Grieco Starts Hot

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Nicola Grieco
Nicola Grieco

Manig Loeser opened to 120,000 with the {j-Spades}{10-Spades} and Nicola Grieco called out of the big blind with the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. The flop brought {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {5-Hearts} on the turn. Again the action went check, check, and the {9-Clubs} river saw Grieco bet 225,000.

Loeser folded and Grieco showed his set of eights.

"No bluff today, not today," the Italian joked.

Wei Huang raised to 140,000 with {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} on the button and Grieco made the call in the small blind with {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}, as did Viktor Katzenberger in the big blind with {7-Spades}{6-Spades}. The flop brought {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and action checked to Huang, who bet 100,000. Only Grieco called and hit the {9-Hearts} turn for a straight, and both players checked.

After the {6-Clubs} river, Grieco bet 245,000 and Huang paid it off to make it two for two for Grieco.
