Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Pavel Ignatov
Pavel Ignatov

"That's the second time here, wow," Raffaello Locatelli exclaimed when he saw the all in showdown between Pavel Ignatov and Matthias Hansen. The cards of Hansen were already in the muck while he paid off the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} of Ignatov on a board of {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Hansen still has chips, though, but dropped down all the way to one third of the starting stack.

Plozza Off to a Good Start

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

With 1,900 in the middle and the flop showing {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, three players including Sergio Castelluccio and Moreno Renzo Plozza checked. The {10-Diamonds} turn brought a bet of 1,000 by Plozza and he picked up one caller. The {4-Diamonds} turn was checked and Plozza mucked when being shown {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens.

Despite losing this small pot, Plozza is up for the day already and the same applies for Castelluccio, who busted just shy of making the cut for Day 2 last night.

Closing in On 400 Entries

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

More than mid-way through Day 1b, the field size of the first flight has already been surpassed with up to 387 entries and all but one table in the Salle Des Etoiles is in use right now. There are still empty seats everywhere as the tournament is kicking into gear, and several notables have entered or taken another shot.

Andreas Vlachos was not spotted in the 1a field, but the Greek is in action on 1b and just scooped a pot without showdown by betting for the size of the pot on the {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs} turn for 3,800. His sole remaining opponent folded and Vlachos raked in the pot.

Toma Takes From Raphael

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

EPT regular Tsugunari Toma has been able to build a profit early on after a clash with Guillaume Raphael. On a three-way flop of {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Toma bet 600 and Raphael check-raised out of the big blind to 2,000. Only Toma came along and Raphael bet the {7-Hearts} turn for 2,300.

Toma had other plans in mind and raised to 5,000, the call of Raphael followed. On the {j-Clubs} river, Raphael checked and folded to a bet of 7,000.
