Salter Busts to Schiano

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Jack Salter had three-bet and folded against the four-bet shove of Stefano Schiano and both would tangle again in a big pot. It all escalated on the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop when Salter ended up all in and at risk in need of running outs to avoid the elimination.

Jack Salter: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Stefano Schiano: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The {6-Clubs} turn sealed the fate of Salter and the {10-Clubs} river ended his tournament, while Schiano soared to a big stack.

Martini Clashes With Schemion

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Julien Martini
Julien Martini

At one of the corner tables in the Salle des Etoiles, two of the biggest names in the field clashed in a three-bet pot. Ole Schemion, who already claimed five trophies at previous EPT's in Monte Carlo, raised it up from middle position and PSPC runner-up Julien Martini three-bet him from the cutoff. Schemion came along with the call.

The flop came down {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Schemion checked. Martini bet 36,000, Schemion check-raised to 90,000, and Martini called. The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Schemion shoved all in with superior stack, more than enough to put Martini to the test for his remaining 200,000.

The Frenchman thought for two minutes before calling it off for his tournament life.

Julien Martini: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Ole Schemion: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Schemion had flopped a set to take a commanding lead in the hand, and Martini needed to catch an eight, jack, or king if he was to survive. The {10-Spades} on the river was neither and he was forced to make his way to the exit. With the hand, Schemion soared over a million in chips to pad his chip lead even further.

Luca Falco

Danilo Velasevic ran into the aces of and Patricia Poli did so when Jean-Pierre Boulad looked her up with the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. The board came {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and the aces ended up best, as Poli's cards were already in the muck.

"You both had aces, so now it is my turn, right? Luca Falco joked and sure enough, he jammed his last 53,000 the next hand. Marco Reggini moved all in over the top to force out everyone else.

Luca Falco: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Marco Reggini: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

On a board of {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the third player departed from the table in as many hands. James Romero thrones above them all with a massive stack of more than a million.

James Romero

James Romero has no qualms continuing the seat open bonanza over at table 1, as he just busted another player to move up to 1.6 million in chips. On a {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, it was Marco Reggini who checked and Romero who bet 25,000. Reggini check-raised all in for 152,000 and Romero called it off.

Marco Reggini: {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
James Romero: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}

As spoilered by the lead, the turn {7-Diamonds} and river {2-Clubs} would end up being Reggini's final cards in this tournament, while Romero overtook Schemion on the leaderboard.
