Khachaturov Doubles Through Pedersen

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Simon Pedersen raised to 12,000 in early position and action made its way around to Artem Khachaturov, who defended his big blind. The two saw a flop of {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Khachaturov checked. Pedersen made a continuation-bet of 8,000 and Khachaturov called.

The turn was {q-Spades}. Khachaturov checked again and Pedersen fired a second barrel for 28,000. Khachaturov reached for chips as if he were about to check-raise all in, but a few toppled over behind the rest of his stack. He picked up three T1,000 chips along with the five T5,000 chips that fell to hold a call in his hand, and then paused again for a split second before announcing he was all in for 82,000. Pedersen called.

Artem Khachaturov: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Simon Pedersen: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Khachaturov found a pair of queens on the turn after sticking around on the flop and got the rest of his chips in well ahead of Pedersen's jacks. The river came {5-Spades} to complete the runout and ensure Khachaturov's double, taking him over 200,000 as Pedersen has dropped to around 600,000, still one of the largest stacks in the room with five tables remaining.
