€25,000 Single-Day High Roller II
Day 1 Started
After a day off from the high roller tournaments at the 2019 Pokerstars EPT Prague, it is now time for another €25,000 Single-Day High Roller. The largest event before the Christmas break is starting to wind down but there is still plenty of money to be won over the next few days.
The previous editions of this tournament earlier this week were won by Jean-Noel Thorel and Chin Wei Lim, who are both expected to be back in the field chasing another title. Some other strong performances throughout the week belong to Adrian Mateos and Ben Heath who have cashed in multiple events. Many players will still be looking for their first cash and possibly a trip-saver before the festival comes to an end.
The action is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time but a slight delay should be expected to allow for enough players to register before the cards go in the air. Similar to the other single-day tournaments, players will begin with a starting stack of 100,000 chips with the blinds beginning at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante.
The levels will be 30 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after levels 4 and 7. There will be a 60-minute dinner break scheduled for after level 10. There is an unlimited re-entry option available and the late registration period will remain open for ten levels. As with most high-roller events, there will be a 30-second shot clock in play and each player will start with six 30-second time extensions.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be back to bring you all of the coverage throughout the day on route to another champion being crowned.

The turn came and Gieles checked. Toma reached for chips on a stack of T1,000 chips that was already sizeably bigger than he started with. He threw out a bet of 5,500 and Gieles quickly sent his cards to the muck.

Adrian Mateos opened to 2,500 on the button and was three-bet to 12,000 by Peter Turmezey in the big blind. Mateos thought amidst Turmezey's stare from across the table for a couple of seconds before throwing out chips to call.
The flop fell and Turmezey made a continuation-bet of 8,500. Mateos called, bringing the turn on board. Turmezey checked over to Mateos and he fired out 12,000, which Turmezey called.
The river came and Turmezey checked again. Action was then on Mateos and he threw out a time extension as the 30-second timer was running out. He then reached for chips, assessing his bet size as he did so. He threw out 21,000 and Turmezey quickly called.
Mateos showed for a flush and Turmezey tabled for a rivered full house, earning him the pot to bring him up north of 150,000 after recently registering.
