Sandsgaard Scores Two Knockouts

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #1:

Action folded around to Catalin Rusu in the small blind and he shoved all in for 310,000. Borge Sandsgaard was in the big blind and asked for a count before making the call.

Catalin Rusu: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Borge Sandsgaard: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

An eight was the first visible card as the dealer spread a flop of {8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, but an ace was buried below it to keep Sandsgaard ahead in the hand. He stayed there the rest of the way, watching the turn {2-Hearts} and river {q-Hearts} complete the runout without much concern to earn him the pot.

Hand #2:

On the very next hand, Pal Koppegodt went all in for the last of his chips from the button and Sandsgaard was waiting with a monster in the small blind.

Pal Koppegodt: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Borge Sandsgaard: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The flop {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} put the case king on board to give Sandsgaard top set, leaving Koppegodt with only a backdoor flush draw to stay alive. The turn came {3-Hearts}, giving him some hope, but the river quickly fell {a-Spades} behind it to leave his hand second best, becoming Sandsgaard's second casualty in as many hands.
