Kovalyuk Gets Bluffed

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

A short while ago, we reported that Mikhail Kovalyuk bluffed Mikhail Shalamov...and just now, Shamalov got revenge on Kovalyuk by bluffing him back.

Shamalov was in middle position preflop and Kovalyuk was playing from the big blind. On the {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, Kovalyuk check-called Shamalov's 3,500 bet.

The turn brought the {a-Hearts} and both players opted to check. On the {5-Clubs} river, Kovalyuk checked again and Shamalov made it 8,500 to see his cards. Kovalyuk folded but Shamalov showed his cards anyway, turning over {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a busted straight draw. The pot brings the two players level-pegging in the counts.

Tamasyan Fails to Get There

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Garik Tamasyan was all in for his tournament life with {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} against the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} of Vitaliy Avanesyan.

The flop {4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} gave Tamasyan a flush draw to try and beat the big slick of his opponent. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the river {q-Spades} meaning he was eliminated and Avanesyan added to his stack.

Ved Pays Off Voropaev's Full House

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Both Anatoliy Voropaev and Kartik Ved checked the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} turn and Voropaev bet 3,500 on the {j-Diamonds} river.

Ved took his time before calling. Voropaev showed {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a full house and Ved threw his cards into the muck.

Voropaev was comfortably over 100,000 before the start of the hand, and has increased his chip stack further to one of the biggest in the room.

Yakuba and Shegay Clash

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Viktor Shegay
Viktor Shegay

Anton Yakuba opened the button to 1,600 and Viktor Shegay called from the small blind. It was just the two of them in heading into the flop.

On the {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} board, Shegay checked and Yakuba checked it back. Shegay decided to lead on the {9-Diamonds} turn, which was smooth called by Yakuba.

The final card out was the {6-Hearts}, double pairing the board. Shegay barrelled 4,100 and Yakuba thought for 30 seconds or so before upping it to 14,500. Shegay went into the tank and then pumped it up again, making it a total of 39,100. It was a quick call from Yakuba and Shegay turned over the bluff with {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Yakuba showed a boat with {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and that pot puts him over the 100,000 mark.

Lipovka Eliminated by Kushnerov

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was a 2,400 open under the gun and the two players to the left of the opener flat called. The action then folded round to Denis Kushnerov who raised all-in for 17,300 on the button. Vadim Lipovka called in the small blind and everyone else got out the way.

Denis Kushnerov: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Vadim Lipovka: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

It was a low runout with {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} on show when all the community cards had been dealt. Lipovka was the shorter stack and he will need to re-enter if he wants to stay in contention.
