Chen Calls Three Barrels

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Valery Yantsevich opened the cutoff to 32,000 and only Pete Chen got involved, defending his big blind.

The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Chen check-called Yantsevich's 30,000 continuation bet. The {2-Hearts} turn saw more of the same, with Chen check-calling 50,000 this time.

When the {q-Spades} came on the river, Chen checked for the last time and Yantsevich made it a round 100,000 to get to showdown. It was a quick call from Chen and Yantsevich threw his cards into the muck, giving Chen a boost to his stack.

Sarkarov Pulls Some Back

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Elvin Sarkarov has just won a couple of pots that see him move in the direction he became accustomed to yesterday.

First, he won a pot against Maksim Bukreev after calling a 25,000 bet on the {8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and then raising to 215,000 over a 75,000 bet on the {4-Clubs} turn. Bukreev didn't fancy calling, leaving Sarkarov to take it.

Next, he raised to 38,000 blind v blind against Pete Chen, who called. The flop came down {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Sarkarov bet 28,000. After Chen called, they went on to the turn. It was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked. The last card out was the {a-Diamonds}, double pairing the board and it went check-check again.

Chen turned over {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Sarkarov opened {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. "I thought you were going to show king high", Chen joked as the chips went Sarkarov's way.

Levelling Wars

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Maksim Bukreev limped the button and Pete Chen checked his option.

The flop was the {5-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades} and when Chen checked, Bukreev bet 18,000. Chen then raised to 65,000, before Bukreev pumped it up to 115,000. Chen didn't waste any time folding.

Valery Yantsevich Eliminated in 5th Place for ₽2,222,500 ($34,163)

It's all over for Valery Yantsevich. He moved all in under the gun for 260,000 (13 big blinds) and Rushad Iskandarov called from the big blind. They opened their cards and Yantsevichh was ahead but not by much.

Rushad Iskandarov: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Valery Yantsevich: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop was safe for the all in player. So too was the {2-Hearts} on the turn. A {10-Spades} on the river sent the chips Iskandarov's way and Yantsevich made his way to the payouts desk.

Three Barrels Sees Sarkarov Extend His Lead

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Elvin Sarkarov is pulling in ahead after three-barrelling in a pot against Rushad Iskandarov.

He had opened the button and then bet 34,000 on the {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, 89,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn and 218,000 on the {k-Spades} river, which Iskandarov check-called.

Sarkarov opened {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a turned two pair and Iskandarov sent his cards into the muck.

Chen Makes His Presence Known

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Maksim Bukreev has been the short stack for a while, with around 20 big blinds in play. He's been very quiet whilst the other three players have tussled and in the last couple of hands, it's Pete Chen who's come out on top.

First, he was in a hand with Elvin Sarkarov and bet 300,000 on the river, (more than the pot value) with {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts} down. It was enough to convince Sarkarov to pass.

Then Sarkarov opened the button to 44,000 and Chen called in the small and Rushad Iskandarov called in the big blind. The dealer laid {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs} on the flop and everyone checked.

On the {9-Clubs} turn, Chen lead for 57,000 and both Iskandrov and Sarkarov came along. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Chen barreled 160,000. Iskandarov folded but Sarkarov made the call. Chen tabled {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for the low full house and Sarkarov mucked.
