Yantsevich Takes Chip Lead After Eliminating Two Opponents

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Valery Yantsevich
Valery Yantsevich

PokerNews was alerted to Table 4 by a few gasps from the players sat at it. Gor Kazaryan had opened the betting to 6,500 from under the gun and Tobias Matuschek had moved all in for 56,000. Ezequiel Waigel went over the top, making it 133,000 total. When the action came to Valery Yantsevich, he called and Gor Kazaryan open-folded ace-king. It turned out to be the correct decision when the cards were turned over.

Valery Yantsevich: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Tobias Matuschek: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Ezequiel Waigel: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Yantsevich scooped the lot for a monstrous lead in the counts now. Meanwhile, we imagine Gor Kazaryan is wishing he didn't make such a big lay down as he would have quadrupled his short stack.

Novoselov Eliminated by Kolyasnikov

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

It is all going on over on Table 4, with yet another elimination taking place there. This time it was Novoselov's turn to hit the rail. He kick-started the betting with a 6,500 open and Kartik Ved three-bet him to 17,000 from the small blind. Day 1 chip leader Sergey Kolyasnikov called and Novoselov went all in for 98,000 total. It was a fold from Ved before Kolyasnikov made what looked like a grudging call and it turned out he was a long way behind Novoselov.

Sergey Kolyasnikov: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Roman Novoselov: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop couldn't have been much better for Kolyasnikov, who soared into the lead. Novoselov understandably rose from his seat at this point, before the dealer put the {10-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river down, which were no help to him.

Kazaryan Out

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After making a great laydown earlier, Gor Kazaryan has hit the rail after running a pair into a better one with his short stack. He three-bet all in with {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} over a 6,500 open from Vladimir Lappo. Lappo then called the rest with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and held on the {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} board.

Kalinin Fails to Spin

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

With just 1,000 chips left, Nikita Kalinin committed his last two 500 chips from under the gun. Rushad Iskandarov went all in over the top and when everyone else folded, they turned over their cards.

Rushad Iskandarov: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Nikita Kalinin: {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Iskandarov won the hand on the {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs} board and Kalinin is the latest player to hit the rail.

Gao Gone

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Wenling Gao
Wenling Gao

After doubling against Nikita Kalinin earlier, which led to Kalinin's eventual demise not long after, Wenling Gao has found herself short again.

Sat in the button with the action folding round to her she got 18,000 chips in and Petr Bartagov called from his big blind. He was ahead but not by much.

Petr Bartagov {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Wenling Gao: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board fell {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and the last woman in the field is out.

Karmatskiy Takes From Chen

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Arseniy Karmatskiy opened 6,000 under the gun and everyone folded until it came to Pete Chen on the big blind. He upped it to 21,000 and Karmatskiy called to see a flop.

It fell {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Chen continued for another 21,000 and Karmatskiy came along. Chen slowed down on the {7-Clubs} turn and Karmatskiy bet 31,000, which was enough to get Chen to pass.

Colillas Remaining Steady

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

There has been little change in the counts for Team PokerStars Pro Ramon Colillas. Just now he took a decent pot after flatting an early position raise preflop and with a late position call and a big blind defend, there were four in total who went to the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop.

The initial raiser didn't continue and a bet from Colillas was enough to garner folds all round. He is down a few big blinds from where he began the day as players get ready to go on their first break of the day.
