Mametiev Bets All Streets

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Valeriy Mametiev opened the betting to 500 from under the gun and he had three calls behind.

On the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop, he continued for 1,000 and only Garik Tamasyan called. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Mametiev bet another 1,000 and Tamasyan called again.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} and Mametiev barreled a third time, making it 1,000 to play. Tamasyan let it go and Mametiev took the pot.

Welcome to Day 1c of the EPT Sochi Main Event

Casino Sochi
Casino Sochi

The third and final flight of the Main Event will kick off at 7pm local time, here at Casino Sochi. There were 251 runners in Day 1a and Day 1b is currently underway, with 322 already registered at the time of writing. With one re-entry available per flight, there is still plenty of time for players to get involved in the action.

Day 1c has ten levels on the schedule, which is the same as Days 1a and 1b but the levels have been reduced levels to 30-minutes. With two 20-minute breaks taking place at the end of Level 4 and Level 8, the tournament is expected to pause for the night at around 12:40am.

With Aleksandr Denisov taking a very impressive 498,600 chips through from Day 1a, the question is will anyone be able to exceed the half-a-million mark and challenge Denisov’s chip lead? That remains to be seen but what we do know is that survivors will be joining some other big names at the tables tomorrow, when Day 2 begins. Amongst them are Team PokerStars Pro and PSPC Champion Ramon Colillas, who accrued a 134,000 chip stack and Team PokerStars Pro Online Mikhail Shalamov who bagged a stack of 62,100.

PokerNews will provide coverage of the entire tournament. See you back here at 7pm for what is sure to be another exciting day of poker.
