The EPT Champions Most Likely to Win a Second Title at EPT Online

Level 22 : 12,500/25,000, 0 ante
EPT Champions
EPT Champions

For the first time ever, poker players around the world will be able to compete in a prestigious European Poker Tour (EPT) Main Event from the comfort of their homes.

Yep. EPT Online runs from 8-18 November, with 20 events of varying buy-ins ranging from $215-$25,000 (just like a regular EPT schedule), and $20 million guaranteed in prizes.

For years, many of us have watched the EPT Live streams from our desks or armchairs and dreamed of one day being able to compete, and maybe, just maybe, win a title.

All of the players in this article have already done it. They’re EPT champions, but only Victoria Coren-Mitchell and Mikalai Pobal have ever won two EPT Main Events.

With the $5,200 EPT Online 8-Max, No Limit Hold’em Main Event kicking off on 15 November, we wondered: which former EPT Main Event winners are most likely to claim another title this time around?

There are more likely candidates than you’d imagine.

It Is All About Bujtas

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas dragged in another two pots to get very close to two million and extend his lead, though he didn't have to go to showdown in order to achieve that. Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen led the {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} river for 40,000 into 160,000 and Bujtas raised to 160,000, which won the pot without resistance.

Up next it was Ka Kwan "kaju84" Lau who bet the {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} river for 70,000 into 110,000, having defended the big blind versus Bujtas. The Hungarian made it 195,000 to go and Lau surrendered.

Bujtas Takes Big Pot Off Lau

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas defended his big blind against a 54,000 open raise by Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau and they checked the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} flop. Bujtas then opted to lead the {3-Hearts} turn for 38,940, which Lau called. Bujtas also bet the {k-Spades} river for 97,940, Lau then raised to 300,000.

A call by Bujtas followed and he won the pot with {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a jack-high flush, as Lau only had {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of acs and the nut flush blocker.

Bujtas Takes the Lead Mmentarily

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

A raise to 49,200 by Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen was caleld by Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas and the Hungarian led the {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop for 59,200, Torbergsen then raised to 160,000 and Bujtas called. Bujtas bet the {4-Spades} turn for 100,000 and Torbergsen came along, Another bet for two-third of the pot on the {k-Hearts} river did the trick for Bujtas to force a fold.

The lead of Bujtas only lasted a few hands as Ka Kwan "kaju85" Lau won a three-bet pot by leading the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop.
