Other notables who bagged included Punnat Punsri (252,00), Paul Tedeschi (249,000), Jack Sinclair (193,000) and former EPT Main Event champion Roberto Romanello (128,000).

The field dwindled down quickly after late registration closed with the bubble eventually being burst when Euan McNicholas moved Tibor Szenasi all in for his tournament life with only one big blind left in his stack. It would be a night to forget for Szenasi as he had McNicholas's eight seven dominated by his queen eight but the seven on the flop sent him home with nothing.

The 34 who survived will join the survivors from flights 1a, 1b and 1c to return tomorrow for Day 2 at 12:00 p.m. local time on Thursday 20th October to battle for the prizepool. The blinds will extend to 60-minute in length which will present plenty of play for the remaining players.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the remaining action as our live reporting will continue until a champion is crowned on Saturday 22nd October live here at EPT London.
