Ianuszewicz Stays Ahead for Double After Action Flop

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Daniel Chuprun opened from middle position and Ehsan Amiri flat-called on the button. Stefan Ianuszewicz then three-bet jammed a stack of 19,000 from the big blind and Chuprun re-shoved with slightly more. That got a fold from Amiri, who made a deep run recently in the €10,300 EPT High Roller in Barcelona.

Stefan Ianuszewicz: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Daniel Chuprun: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Ianuszewicz winced as an ace showed in the window, but the dealer then fanned the flop of {j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} to show Ianuszewicz making a set, while Chuprun had some hope with top two pair and shrugged. The board then finished out {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for Ianuszewicz to stay ahead for a double and to leave his American opponent riding fumes.

Sirichuk Runs Into Loosli's Aces

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Sylvain Loosli
Sylvain Loosli

There was a raising war between Rodrigo Sirichuk in the small blind and Sylvain Loosli in the big blind that culminated when Loosli flat-called the final raise to around 6,300 from Sirichuk.

Sirichuk continued on the flop of {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Loosli called. Sirichuk then jammed for around 12,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn and Loosli quickly called.

Rodrigo Sirichuk: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Sylvain Loosli: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Sirichuk's queens were in trouble against the aces of Loosli with one card to come and the {5-Hearts} on the river didn't change anything to mark the Brazilian's eliminatio.

Peffly Eliminates Two to Soar Up the Chip Counts

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Alex Peffly
Alex Peffly

On a board of {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, both Terry Jordon and Daniele Lunario were at risk and all-in when Alex Peffly made the call.

Jordon held {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the flush draw, Lunario {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} had two pair but Peffly was way out in front with {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

The {j-Clubs} made Jordan's flush on the river but it was no match for Peffly and his full house.

Peffly is now one of, if not the tournament chip leader with a stack of 220,000 as the players go on their second break of the day.

Syversen Scores Knockout

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A cutoff player got their stack of approximately 16,000 in and was at risk against Thomas Syversen in the big blind.

Cutoff: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Thomas Syversen: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop put Syversen well ahead to the {a-Clubs} turn. Just needing to fade a jack, the {k-Hearts} completed the board to give the Norwegian a boat and the pot.

Szenasi Sniffs Out a Bluff

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a board reading {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, Tibor Szenasi bet 1,700 only for Alejandro Lococo to raise to 11,700.

Szenasi pondered before making the call and Lococo quickly slid his hand into the muck without showdown.

Lococo is now down to 6,000 chips whilst Szenasi has had a solid start to his day and is one of the larger stacks in the room.

Reard Reared by Ji's Jacks

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Alexandre Reard
Alexandre Reard

In a three-way pot on a flop of {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Alexandre Reard got his stack of 7,000 in the middle and was called by Min Ji, while the third player in the hand folded.

Alexandre Reard: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Min Ji: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Reard had flopped top pair but couldn't get ahead of the overpair of his opponent as the board finished out {4-Hearts}{6-Spades} to improve the Frenchman to a meaningless two pair and mark his elimination, though he bought back in shortly after.
