Lijo Crosses A Million on the Bubble

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Lander Lijo
Lander Lijo

On a turn board of {2-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Kyriakos Papadopoulos check-called a bet of 16,000 in the big blind from Lander Lijo in the hijack.

On the river {q-Spades}, Papadopoulos checked again, and this time Lijo bombed it for 200,000.

Papadopoulos snap-called, but got bad news as Lijo showed {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a turned full house, taking over half of Papadopoulos' chips in the pot, while crossing a million himself.

Maue Runs Queens Into Kings to Go Out on Money Bubble

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Leonard Maue Artur Martirosian bubble
Leonard Maue Artur Martirosian bubble

In the hand that burst the money bubble, Leonard Maue opened before Artur Martirosian, who had been one of the most aggressive players on the bubble, put in a three-bet from the next seat. Maue responded with a four-bet jam with his stack of around 250,000 and Martirosian beat him into the pot with a call.

"Do you have a pair?" Maue asked as Martirosian nodded.

"You have ace-king?" Martirosian asked Maue, who shook his head.

Leonard Maue: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Artur Martirosian: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Maue was on the wrong end of the cooler and the flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} didn't help him other than creating some chop possibilities. The {4-Spades} on the turn increased those possibilities but the {a-Clubs} on the river marked Maue's elimination on the stone money bubble.

It's been a great series for the German, who recently took down the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller for €653,160.

Aces vs. Kings vs. Queens at Table 1

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

As Saar Wilf relayed to PokerNews, a player was all in for 170,000 and Ramon Colillas raised to 600,000. Saar Wilf then re-raised all in and Colillas folded what he said was queens.

It ended up being the right move as he was against {k-}{k-} and the {a-}{a-} of Wilf. The right move, that is, until a queen on the flop would have given him a set and held up for the best hand.

Though he would've won a big pot, it was a disciplined and impressive fold from the PokerStars ambassador and 2019 PSPC champion.

Papadopoulos Ends Sammartino's Day With Huge One-Two Knockout Punch

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Kyriakos Papadopoulos

Dario Sammartino has gone from a million chips to zero in two hands, with Kyriakos Papadopoulos the beneficiary, who now leads the tournament.

In the first hand, Sammartino was in the small blind and Kyriakos Papadopoulos in the big blind with approximately 60,000 in the pot on the {9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop.

Sammartino bet 25,000 and was raised to 75,000 by Papadopoulos. Sammartino than came back with another raise to 190,000, which Papadopoulos called.

The duo then checked the {5-Clubs} turn, but on the {a-Diamonds} river, Sammartino moved all in for Papadopoulos' remaining 447,000.

After using four time banks, Papadopoulos called.

Sammartino showed {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives, while Papadopoulos had {k-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a flopped two pair.

That pot sent Papadopoulos over a million chips, then just a couple of hands later, he finished off Sammartino in another big pot.

As retold by Papadopoulos, Luis Fonseca moved all in for 150,000 in early position, Sammartino then moved in over top in middle position for 550,000, and Papadopoulos called to put both players at risk.

Luis Fonseca: {a-}{j-}
Dario Sammartino: {a-}{k-}
Kyriakos Papadopoulos: {10-}{10-}

The board ran out {j-}{5-}{3-}{2-}{9-}, giving Fonseca a triple up, but the side pot saw Papadopoulos eliminate Sammartino with his tens to soar near the chip lead.

Salas Over a Million

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Artur Martirosian raised to 35,000 on the button and was called by Damian Salas in the big blind.

After the duo checked the {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, Salas check-called a bet of 80,000 from Martirosian.

Salas checked again on the {6-Hearts} river and Martirosian bet 215,000. Salas made the call.

Martirosian showed {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for top pair, top kicker, but Salas showed {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, hitting his kicker on the river to snatch the pot away from Martirosian and cross the million chip mark.

Rabl Heroes to Crush Astedt

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Eric Rabl made a massive hero call in a hand that began with him opening and getting called by Niklas Astedt.

Rabl continued with a bet on the flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades} and Astedt called. Rabl bet again on the {k-Hearts} turn and Astedt raised Rabl called.

Rabl checked on the {9-Clubs} and Astedt bet to put him all in. Rabl made the call. PokerNews arrived at the table as Astedt could only show {q-}{j-} for queen-high and Rabl showed {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for just a pair of fives.

The big call pushed Rabl over the million mark and left Astedt with less than three big blinds. The Swedish online grinder made a disappointed frown and gave Rabl a stare that lasted several seconds.

Two hands later, Astedt open-jammed his stack of 37,000 and was called by Jacob Amsellem in the big blind.

Niklas Astedt: {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Jacob Amsellem: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Things just weren't going Astedt's way as he ran into a hand that had him dominated. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Amsellem's made two pair for Astedt to be eliminated.

Here Comes Chidwick!

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick has bided his time in the middle of the pack most of the day, but in the last couple of levels he's built up his stack and is now using it to his advantage.

After Yannick Cardot opened under the gun to 40,000, Chidwick three-bet to 125,000 from the cutoff.

Cardot came back with a five-bet to 300,000, but Chidwick then six-bet all in and Cardot quickly folded, as Chidwick becomes the latest player to cross the million chip mark.

Full Circle as Martirosian Runs Queens Into Kings

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Artur Martirosian
Artur Martirosian

Philippe Narboni opened from the cutoff and Artur Martirosian three-bet jammed a stack of 350,000 from the small blind. Narboni snap-called with 300,000 when the action got around.

Philippe Narboni: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Artur Martirosian: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

It was full circle as earlier in the night Martirosian had kings to bust Leonard Maue with queens on the money bubble. The flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} gave Narboni a set to have the Russian drawing nearly dead before the runout of {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} that improved Narboni to a full house.

Martirosian thought he might be covered but ended up sitting back down when he realized he had two big blinds left.

Ehsan Amiri
Ehsan Amiri

Ehsan Amiri raised to 50,000 under the gun and was three-bet to 170,000 by Pauli Ayras in the small blind.

Amiri called and the flop came {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Ayras bet 100,000 and Amiri called, then on the {9-Hearts} turn Ayras moved all in for his last 385,000.

Amiri used a pair of time banks before making the call to put Ayras at risk.

Pauli Ayras: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Ehsan Amiri: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Amiri's sevens were ahead, and remained so with the {6-Hearts} on the river to send Ayras to the rail, while becoming the first player over two million.

Chidwick Wounded After Doubling Straver

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Johannes Straver opened in middle position before Arthur Conan three-bet jammed a stack of about 150,000 from the button. Stephen Chidwick thren three-bet jammed out of the big blind and Straver called off with 560,000

Arthur Conan: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Johannes Straver: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Straver's queens stayed ahead as the board ran out {5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for the Dutchman to more than double, send Conan to the rail and take a chunk out of Chidwick's recently acquired stack.

At the next table over, Saar Wilf was eliminated after running queens into the kings of Daewoong Song in what seems to be a recurring trend today.
