Lovgren Out; Romero Doubles

Alejandro Romero raised to 21,000 from middle position and Eric Sfez three-bet to 61,000 from the button before Sofia Lovgren four-bet jammed with her last 183,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded and Romero shoved his 189,000 into the middle, which sent Sfez into the tank. After a few moments of talking out the possibilities, Sfez folded and action was heads-up with Lovgren at risk.

Di Giacomo Doubles Andrian; Busts to Grieco

The cards were already on their backs as a flip between two Italians unfolded with Simone Andrian at risk for 21 blinds. He was up against Claudio Di Giacomo who held the slightly superior stack.

The flop gave Andrian trips queens and he locked up the double with the turn, rendering the river to a formality as Andrian doubled for 211,000.

Di Giacomo was down to 91,000 and got those in the very next hand, facing yet another Italian in showdown in Nicola Grieco.

Both had a piece of it on the flop with top pair and nut flush draw versus middle set. The turn gave Di Giacomo even more outs but he missed them all on the river.

Colillas Chips Up Against Conan

Over at the featured table, Ramon Colillas opened to 20,000 on the button and Arthur Conan three-bet to 75,000 in the small blind. Colillas called.

The dealer spread the flop and Conan led for 42,000. Colillas then raised to 100,000, and Conan called.

The landed on the turn and Conan check-called a bet of 100,000.

The completed the board and Conan led for 230,000. Colillas used a couple of time extensions and eventually put in a single chip to signify a call.

Conan turned over , while Colillas tabled to take the sizable pot with a flush as the PokerStars Ambassador soared near the top of the leaderboard.

Magliocco Busts Salzmann With Quads

Francky Magliocco opened from the cutoff and Stephan Salzmann shoved from the button. The blinds got out of the way before Magliocco requested a count. After the dealer counted out around 140,000, Magliocco called and Salzmann was at risk.

Sfez Out, Hvam Running It Up

Lucas Sfez was seen leaving the table on his way to the payout desk with a big pot in the middle and on the board. Sfez had shoved with the of clubs but he ran into the straight of Morten Hvam and Hvam took all of his chips.

Hvam is on a big run today with just over 2,000,000 as the tournament nears its second break.

Grieco Runs Out of Time

Yannick Cardot raised to 25,000 and Marcelo Simoes in the hijack called. Nicola Grieco on the button three-bet to 100,000 and received two calls. The flop was checked to Grieco and he bet 200,000 for Cardot to fold and Simoes to call.

After the turn both players checked and Simoes bet the river for 250,000.

Grieco went into the tank and surpassed the 30-second shot clock. With one time bank remaining, the next 30 seconds ticked down and the the dealer counted down the final ten seconds as Grieco sat there motionless.

When the time had run up, his hand was dead which the Italian had not realised yet. The dealer called over the floor and Grieco's cards were indeed dead as Simoes raked in the pot. As he tried to get some information from his opponent, Grieco was shown a fishing rod throw by Simoes.

Mantor Busts to Sfez; Misses Pay Jump

Eric Sfez opened from the cutoff and Didrik Mantor three-bet to 115,000 in the small blind. Back on Sfez he quickly four-bet to 450,000 and Mantor opted to call for the vast majority of his stack.

As the flop fell, Sfez vaulted out of his seat to check how many chips Mantor had behind. Both somehow checked and Mantor then bet the turn for 50,000 with 4,000 behind. The reason behind the move on the pay jump was rather obvious and Sfez pist-fump raised to 125,000 in a matter of a second.

As Mantor studied the tournament clock and called it off even though he still had several time bank extensions behind.

Sfez all but celebrated and then had reason to when the blank river failed to keep Mantor in contention. He was eliminated in 40th place and missed out on the pay jump.

Conan Gets Over a Million and Leaves Motte With Crumbs

Over on the featured table, Arthur Conan opened to 32,000 from early position and Fabien Motte three-bet to 133,000 in the small blind. Action folded back to Conan who called.

The dealer spread the flop, Motte shoved, and Conan called for his 358,000 chips.

Conan had jumped ahead on the flop, and although the added Broadway outs for Motte, the confirmed Conan's double and left Motte with only 7,000 in chips.
