Kagawa Eliminated by Wheeler

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Rintaro Kagawa
Rintaro Kagawa

Jason Wheeler made it 27,000 to go and ultimately called the three-bet shove by Rintaro Kagawa out of the blinds for 287,000.

Rintaro Kagawa: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jason Wheeler: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs} appeared in the window and the rest of the flop showed {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to give Wheeler the lead with a pair of kings. Kagawa needed an ace, ten or running hearts to avoid elimination but found no help on the {j-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river.

"I didn't like it," Wheeler said in table chat referring to his call but it ultimately turned out to be a profitable decision. Kagawa's run ended in 45th place for a payday of €16,440.

Soenmez Chips Up; Golder Doubles His Short Stack

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Erkan Soenmez
Erkan Soenmez

Heads-up to the {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Jaime Cervantes bet 80,000 when checked to by Erkan Soenmez and the latter called. They checked the {j-Diamonds} on the turn and Soenmez led the {2-Hearts} river for 180,000.

Cervantes quickly folded and Soenmez flashed the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for good measure before collecting the pot.

One table over, Jason Wheeler raised from under the gun and then called the short stack push by Daniel Golder for 78,000 on the button.

Daniel Golder: {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Jason Wheeler: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Golder took the lead on the {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop to which Wheeler said "a five would be dirty". Nothing changed on the {j-Hearts} turn except that Golder made two pair as Wheeler now had four outs left. "A five would still be dirty," he joked.

However, the {k-Clubs} river was no threat for Golder and the Brit doubled.
