Toma Doubles Through Newey

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tsugumari Toma
Tsugumari Toma

Stephen Chidwick raised it up to 2,500 on the button for Paul Newey to three-bet in the small blind, making it 10,500 to go. Tsugunari Toma cold-called in the big blind and Chidwick got out of the way. On a flop of {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Newey continued for 13,500 and Toma came along.

As they headed to the {4-Hearts} turn, Newey slowed down and checked. Toma bet 15,000 with 33,000 behind and Newey called within the allocated 30 seconds. The {j-Diamonds} fell on the river and Newey checked once more. Toma moved all-in and Newey invested one time bank before calling with the slightly superior stack.

The {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} of Toma had turned a full house and Newey's {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} ended up second-best to leave the Brit very short.
