Machado Misses a Big Draw

Aleksei Istomin bet 4,000 on a flop of 10♥9♥9♦ from under the gun and Hugo Machado called in the small blind. Xuming Qi then raised to 16,500 in the big blind and Istomin called.

Machado responded by moving all in for around 50,000 and Qi got out of the way. Istomin, though, snap-called to put Machado at risk.

Istomin had flopped trip nines, while Machado had both straight and flush draws and needed to hit to stay alive. Istomin took out his phone and began filming the action as the 5♠ fell on the turn, followed by the 8♠ river as Machado missed everything to hit the rail.

"I was thinking a worse nine. Jack-nine, queen-nine, something like that," Istomin explained to a tablemate after Machado had made his exit.

Patrick Tardif and Christopher Frank also recently busted on other tables.
