Mateos Shows Down Third Pair

Ryan Lashmar

Level 2 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and received calls from Adrian Mateos in the small blind and Artur Martirosian in the big blind.

The flop came K♣9♣5♦ and action checked around to Ponakovs, who bet 3,000. Both Mateos and Martirosian made the call.

All three players checked both the 10♥ turn and 3♥ river. Mateos tabled 9♥8♥ for a pair of nines which was good enough to take the pot.
