Day 1c Started
The 2023 PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino®️ continues at Monte-Carlo Sporting and Day 1c of the €1,100 France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event is set to begin at 11 a.m. local time. Yesterday marked the return of the EPT Monte Carlo festivities, and the much-anticipated action kicked off with two starting flights of this event.
On Day 1a, 63 players survived out of 420 entries, while 38 out of 254 advanced on Day 1b. Spain's Adrian Chabbi bagged the top stack in Day 1a with 513,000 chips and Recep Aydemir of Turkey grabbed the big stack in Day 1b with 560,000. This is the third of four starting flights, with the final starting flight set to take place as a turbo format later this evening at 6 p.m. local time.
In most recent FPS Main Event offering earlier this year in Paris, Alan Goasdoue defeated fellow Frenchman Jean-Luc Labryga in heads-up play to win the trophy and €287,830. That event attracted a total of 2,071 runners and a prize pool of €1,988,160 to top the previous 1,918 runners from the 2022 FPS Monte-Carlo.
Players will be given a starting stack of 30,000 chips. The blinds will begin at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante and the levels will be 40 minutes in length for this third flight. There are two reentries allowed per flight and late registration will close after Level 10. Play will continue until 15% of the field remains, and those who bag for Friday’s Day 2 will all be in the money.
Stay tuned as the PokerNews live reporting team brings you updates of the action throughout the day and throughout the series in Monte Carlo.

Daniele Sunzeri opened to 300 from under the gun and it folded around to Vincent Lahalle in the big blind who made the call.
The flop came A♥Q♣7♣ and both players checked their options to the 7♥ turn. Lahalle checked again and Sunzeri bet out 400, which Lahalle called.
On the 8♠ river Lahalle elected to lead out for 900 and without much thought, Sunzeri flicked in a chip for the call. Lahalle rolled over J♥9♥ for jack-high and Sunzeri took the pot with Q♠J♣ for a pair of queens.

The pair saw the flop of 6♥6♠4♠ and Lutaescher check-called a bet of 400 from Biziere. On the 5♦ turn Lutaescher checked again and Biziere came with a sizing of 1,000, which Lutaescher called.
The 8♠ completed the board and both players checked to a showdown. Lutaescher tabled A♣4♥ for a pair of fours and scored the pot when Biziere tossed his cards into the muck.

Jimmy Gomes opened to 600 from under the gun and Emmanouil Chrysovergis made the call next to act. The rest of the table got out of the way and the pair saw a flop of K♠4♦2♠.
Gomes continued for 400 and Chrysovergis came along to the 10♠ turn. Both players checked their options to the A♦ river and Gomes took a moment before tossing in a bet of 1,000. Chrysovergis elected on a raise to 2,500 and Gomes went deep in the tank.
After over a minute of thought, Gomes reluctantly let his cards go and the pot was sent to Chrysovergis.
