Milos Petakovic Bags Chip Lead in FPS Main Event as Day 1d Concludes

Day 1d, the final starting flight of the €1,100 FPS Main Event, running as part of PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino®, has now concluded.

Of the 473 entrants, 71 players made it through to join the rest of the pack for Day 2. Francesco Zappala busted on the bubble after shoving a short stack and losing out to Tahar Said, who had a pair of aces with a higher kicker.

At the conclusion of Day 1d, Milos Petakovic of Serbia bagged up 926,000 chips, putting him far out in front as the chip leader across all flights.

Dalibor Dula was second in chips with 557,000 and Lucas Silva Rocha bagged the third place stack. Simone Demasi finished the flight in fourth and Moritz Bleiker rounds out the top five.

There were 2,138 entries across all four starting flights, making for a prize pool of €2,052,480. A total of 321 players made it through to Day 2 and they have all made the money.

Those who made it through Day 1d will join Day 1a chip leader Adrian Chabbi, Day 1b chip leader Recep Aydemir, and Day 1c chip leader Inigo Naveiro. Other notables who made it through earlier flights include Maria Konnikova, 2023 PSPC champion Aliaksandr Shylko, Dinesh Alt and Boris Kolev, among others.

Day 2 kicks off at noon local time. Blinds will start at 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante, and payouts will be announced at the start of the day.

Zappala Busts Bubble to Said; Players Bag and Tag

After several rounds of hand for hand that resulted in double ups for the short stacked players, Uri Netanel raised from under the gun, Moritz Bleiker called and Francesco Zappala moved all in from middle position for 25,000. He was called by Tahar Said, Netanel and Bleiker.

The flop came 6♥5♠10♠ and all three players checked, clearly looking to cooperate on the bubble. The turn was the 10♦ and players checked. The river was the A♣ and once again players checked it back.

After a pause while the other tables finished up, the hand was announced and players flipped their cards.

Zappala showed A♦2♥ for a pair of aces. That would have been enough against two of his opponents, but Tahar Said flipped over A♠J♠ for a pair of aces with the jack kicker.

Zappala was eliminated on the bubble. The rest of the 71 remaining players bagged and tagged ready to come back for Day 2, when they will all be in the money.

Rocha Catches Routier's River Bluff

Lucas Silva Rocha raised from the button and Jeremy Routier called in the big blind.

The flop came 6♣J♥5♠. Routier checked and Rocha bet 11,000, which Routier called. The turn was the 6♥ and Routier led out for 22,000. Rocha called.

The river was the 10♦ and Routier, after taking some time, made a large bet of 26,000. Rocha thought only for a moment before making the call.

Routier flipped 9♠8♠ for a missed straight draw. Rocha flipped over J♠3♠. He successfully caught Routier's bluff with a pair of jacks.

Netanel Triples Up and Popov Busts

Francesco Zappala raised from under the gun and picked up calls from Salvatore Spataro and Volodymyr Legkyi. Uri Netanel moved all in from the button with a relatively short stack and Slaven Popov also pushed his chips in the middle from the small blind. Zappala made the call and three players flipped their cards, putting both Popov and Netanel at risk.

Wei Jie Zheng opened the action with a raise from early position and Antoine Labat shoved all in for 56,000 chips. Zheng called and players flipped their cards, with Labat at risk and Zheng with most of his stack in the middle.

Double Bust as Chandirli and Odor Eliminated

Piacentino Eliminated as Duzgun Makes Full House

Yves Piacentino raised to 2,500 from middle position and Samiyel Duzgun made the call. Thierry Morel also called in the big blind and three players went to the flop.

The flop came 9♣2♠J♦. Morel and Piacentino checked and Duzgun bet 3,500, which only Piacentino called. The turn was the 8♠, Piacentino checked and Duzgun bet 11,500. Piacentino made the call again.

The river was the J♠, Piacentino checked and this time Duzgun made a huge bet worth the rest of Piacentino chips. Piacentino weighed it up for a moment before making the call.

Piacentino showed K♠Jx for trip jacks. Duzgun showed J♣8♣ for a full house and scooped a huge pot, adding to a stack that was now over the 200,000 mark. Piacentino was eliminated.

Banic Doubles Up With Pocket Aces

Pasqale Di Ceglie opened the action with a raise and Ivan Banic called. Petre-Bogdan Ionescu reraised to 5,300, Di Ceglie folded and Banic shoved all in for around 15,000 chips. Ionescu made the call to put Banic at risk.
