Sanz Secures Double-Up

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Guillermo Sanz
Guillermo Sanz

George Rotariu opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 13,000 before Guillermo Sanz moved all in from the next seat over. The count was 66,000 and the action folded over to Alberto Cigliano in the big blind. He made the four-bet to put Rotariu's stack at risk as well. Evidently, this was too much for Rotariu who let his hand go and the other two players turned over their hands.

Guillermo Sanz: QQ
Alberto Cigliano: AQ

Sanz loudly yelled for a ''chiquita'', but he did not need one of the ladies as the board ran out clean, 59535. He doubled up but is still working his way back to where he started the day.

Noja Jams River

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Danielle Noja opened to 15,000 from middle position and it folded around to Vicente Delgado and Franck Dechaud in the blinds who both made the call.

The flop fanned out 973 and action checked to Noja who continued for 16,000, which only Dechaud called. On the A turn Dechaud checked again and Noja sized to 23,000, which was called.

The 10 completed the board and Dechaud checked a third time to Noja who quickly announced all in for 50,000. Dechaud took a few seconds before tossing his hand into the muck and the pot was awarded to Noja.

Sitbon Triples Up, Has Six Bigs

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Julien Sitbon was down to a single T-1,000 chip and already made that ten times as much, sitting on a stack of 10,000. He put all of those chips in the middle from middle position. The action folded to the blinds David Hareuveni and Loic Dobrigna, who both called.

The flop came 5410 and Hareuveni checked to Dobrigna. Dobrigna wanted to create a side pot and bet 12,000, which Hareuveni swiftly called. The turn was 2 and again Hareuveni checked, followed by a bet of 25,000 from Dobrigna. Hareuveni was again present with an instantaneous call.

As the Q river fell, Hareuveni grabbed a stack of chips and put them in the middle. Dobrigna shook his head at the 65,000 bet and reluctantly let his hand go.

Meanwhile Sitbon thanked his opponent for ''the bluff'' as he tabled his 109. Heuveni showed him A4 for a lower pair and thus Sitbon tripled his stack to a slightly more favorable size. Hareuveni was the biggest winner, however, scooping the sizable side pot.

Demasi Destroys Competition

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Simone Demasi started today with a healthy stack, but has already added more than 50 big blinds in chips. In his latest endeavor, he opened from early position to 13,000. Gregory Chenet flat-called from the hijack before Alexandre Reard put his last 122,000 chips in the middle from the small blind.

Demasi asked for an exact count and made the call after he received it from the dealer. Chenet got out of the way and a showdown was held.

Alexandre Reard: AJ
Simone Demasi: KK

Reard was looking for an ace to stay alive in the tournament, but no help came on the 62Q94 runout. The newest addition to Demasi's stack means he is now nearing 150 big blinds.

Michal Mrakes: J10

No Smooth Sailing for Kyte

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jon Kyte
Jon Kyte

Jon Kyte started today with a healthy stack, but it had dwindled down to about 60,000 chips. He was sitting in the small blind and in an effort to increase that number, flat-called an open from button Ionut Decher. Big blind Milen Stefanov also came along and the trio were off to the flop.

The 8810 checked around, as did the 3 turn. On the 10 river, Kyte bet 40,000, leaving himself a single T-1,000 chip behind. Stefanov quickly got out of the way and, after some deliberation, so did Decher. He showed the K out of courtesy, enkindling a smile from Kyte.

Beresford gets Back-Raised

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Milos Petakovic, who started today as chip leader, opened from the hijack to 16,000 and received a call from Georgios Karakousis in the small blind. Conor Beresford was in the big blind and put in the three-bet to 65,000.

Petakovic quickly folded, dwindling his stack even further. Karakousis promptly four-bet jammed, covering Beresford. Beresford surrendered and gave the table a friendly knock before passing his cards to the dealer.
