Guimond Gives Benoliel the Bad News
Florian Guimond made the minraise to 100,000 from middle position and Antonio Calabro and Sam Benoliel called from the blinds. The flop was dealt K♣8♥Q♠ and all three players checked.
The turn fell 4♦ and Benoliel took the betting lead after a check from Calabro. He bet 100,000, but none of the other players were done with the hand yet as they both called.
The river paired the board with the 8♠ and Benoliel shoved some stacks forward for a bet totalling 250,000. Guimond spent some time in the tank pondering the situation but eventually made the call.
Calabro quickly folded and Benoliel triumphantly tabled his J♥8♦ for rivered trips. His mood would soon sour, however, as Guimond played A♠8♣ for the same trip eights, but with a better kicker.
''Encroyable'', Benoliel repeated a few times while mourning his lost chips.
