Gil Finds an Unorthodox Check-Raise for Value

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

There was around 100,000 in the pot already with Azzedine Mehal and Abraham Gil heads-up. The board read A32K and Mehal had a bet of 32,000 in front of him on the button. Gil check-raised the minimum to 64,000 and Mehal tanked for a minute before calling.

Gil opted to check blind before the Q hit the felt and Mehal announced a five. He then checked and announced "five" once more. Gil flipped over 1010 and that turned out to be the best hand as Mehal mucked his cards.
