The French Riviera is playing host to the 2023 PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® and the action is in full swing with the French Poker Series being the center of attention. The €2,200 FPS High Roller will begin today at 12:00 p.m. noon local time with Day 1a and will wrap up tomorrow when a champion is determined.

In the previous edition of the FPS High Roller in Monte Carlo, there were a total of 861 entries that generated a prize pool of over €1,700,000. It was Pascal Mouysset that topped the field, earning himself a cool €308,790 for his efforts. Some other notables that made a deep run include Yiannis Liperis, Bryan Paris, Jimmy Guerrero, and Motoyoshi Okamura.

Day 1a is scheduled to get the cards in the air at 12:00 p.m. noon local time, and each player will be given a starting stack of 30,000 chips. The blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante, and the levels will be 40 minutes in length throughout the event. There will be a 20-minute break after every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break scheduled for after Level 10.

This is an unlimited reentry event, and the late registration period will remain open until after the dinner break. Approximately 15% of the field will be played, and Day 1a will play until the money is reached. Day 1b will also be taking place later this evening in a turbo format, with the blind levels only 20 minutes in length. All players that make the money will return tomorrow for Day 2 and play down to a winner.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates throughout the event en route to crowning a champion in just a couple of days.
