Barbero Binks an Ace and Doubles
Level 21
: Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Nacho Barbero open-raised his button to 35,000 and Day 2 chip leader Dominykas Mikolaitis made it 120,000 to go from the small blind. Barbero then responded with a four-bet jam to 435,000 and Mikolaitis made the call in an instant.
Nacho Barbero: A♥J♠
Dominykas Mikolaitis: J♣J♥
Barbero was in rough shape, but that all changed when the A♣3♣K♥ flop appeared. With Barbero hitting top pair, Mikolaitis was now looking for the only jack left in the deck or some runner-runner shenanigans. The 4♥ turn killed the dream of the latter happening, and the K♣ river decided the pot in Barbero's favor.
Barbero doubled up to an above-average stack.
