Final Day of €3,000 EPT Monte Carlo Mystery Bounty Begins at 12 p.m. CEST

Aurelien Russo
Aurelien Russo

The PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® is reaching its last few days of action, and one event that wraps up today is the €3,000 EPT Monte Carlo Mystery Bounty.

The final day of the tournament gets underway at 12 p.m. local time, and sees 15 players returning to Sporting Monte-Carlo to battle it out for the remainder of the €1,163,448 prize pool. Those who still remain have already locked up €11,100, but of course, all eyes will be on the €224,448 that awaits the winner.

One of the most exciting aspects of Mystery Bounty events are the mystery bounty prizes, and they did not disappoint in the principality. Aurelien Russo and Sam Greenwood pulled the €100,000 mystery bounty prize, with the other big bounties being dished out throughout Day 2. Only €1,000 bounties remain, which could cause play to be cautious for today's session.

Ignacio Sole Aparicio opened to 100,000 from middle position and Florian Montes defended his big blind.

Montes check-jammed for 375,000 on the A107 flop and was snap-called by Aparicio.

Florian Montes: A7
Ignacio Sole Aparicio: 1010

"Wow," exclaimed the table as the hands were turned over. Montes had flopped two pair but was behind the set of tens helf by Aparicio.

The J4 runout was of no help to Montes and he departed in 15th place.

Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Soraya Estrada
Soraya Estrada

Action folded around to Antoine Labat, who had doubled up just one hand before. He moved all in from the button for 520,000. Soraya Estrada made the call in the small blind and Labat had her covered. Fabio Peluso also called in the big blind and had both players covered, meaning Labat and Estrada were both at risk.

Soraya Estrada: Q10
Antoine Labat: KQ
Fabio Peluso: AJ

The board ran out QK24J. That gave Estrada a pair of queens, but Labat two pair on the flop. Peluso made a pair of jacks on the river, which wasn't enough to win even the side pot.

Labat tripled up and Estrada was eliminated from the tournament in 14th place for €11,100.

Jeremie Zouari raised to 100,000 from middle position and was called by Antoine Labat on the button. Bruno Lopes then moved all in from the small blind for 1,100,000. Zouari folded and Labat made the call with Lopes covered.

Bruno Lopes: J10
Antoine Labat: KK

Lopes had attempted a squeeze play but Labat had slow played his pocket kings.

The board ran out Q10463. Lopes did pair up on the flop, but couldn't improve on the turn or river. Labat held up with his pocket kings and once again scooped a huge pot to bring himself towards the top of the leaderboard.

Nicolas Julien
Nicolas Julien

Nicolas Julien opened to 494,000 from the hijack, leaving just 150,000 behind. Ignacio Sole Aparicio called from the button and the blinds folded.

"Can you fold flop?" asked Aparicio. "Depends on the flop," replied Julien.

With the pay jump at 11 remaining, Nicolas Julien went into the tank on the J109 flop. He eventually checked and his opponent put him all in.

After some moments passed, the tournament director then instructed Julien that he had 30 seconds to make a decision.

Julien called off his stack, and the cards were tabled.

Nicolas Julien: 44
Ignacio Sole Aparicio: AJ

The K2 runout saw Aparicio's pair of jacks remain best and Julien was eliminated.

"If anyone leaves an insignificant amount of chips behind, they will have 30 seconds to act," relayed the floor to the two remaining tables.

Mario Navarro Eliminated in 11th Place (€16,000)

Level 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Mario Navarro
Mario Navarro

Action folded to Mario Navarro, who raised from the button. Anton Kraous called in the big blind.

The flop came 382. Kraous checked and Navarro made the continuation bet, which Kraous called. The turn came the 7 and Kraous checked again. Navarro made it 250,000 and Kraous called.

The river came the 2. Kraous checked a third time and Navarro moved all in for 770,000. Kraous didn't tank too long before making the call.

The floor told players to keep their cards face down. Navarro was already stood up and gathering his belongings, aware of what was to come.

When cards were revealed, Navarro flipped over J10. He'd been running a triple barrel bluff. Kraous showed K3 for a pair of threes. He'd called all three streets with the best hand, picking off the bluff to send Navarro to the rail.

Players congratulated Kraous for his excellent call. Navarro was eliminated in 11th place for €16,000.

Igor Yaroshevskyy Eliminated in 8th Place (€20,700)

Level 30 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Igor Yaroshevskyy
Igor Yaroshevskyy

Igor Yaroshevskyy min-raised to 200,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Jeremie Zouari, who three-bet to 525,000. Yaroshevskyy moved all in and Labat quickly called, with Yaroshevskyy at risk.

Igor Yaroshevskyy: QQ
Jeremie Zouari: AK

It was exactly the kind of race to be expected at this point in the tournament. Yaroshevskyy had pocket queens and Zouari had ace-king.

The board ran out 39Q10J.

The queen on the flop gave Yaroshevskyy a set and Zouari was drawing very thin. The turn brought him a few more outs and the J river completed Zouari's straight.

Gasps sounded out from around the table. Yaroshevskyy got up to leave. Boika got up to console him. Zouari scooped his chips, which now totalled 4,700,000.

"He doesn't need the money, that's the problem." said Antoine Labat. "When you don't need the money it's easy!"

Yaroshevskyy was eliminated in eighth place for €20,700 (€31,950 including bounties).

Aliaksei Boika raised to 400,000 from under the gun, which was around half of his stack. Jon Ander Vallinas moved all in and action folded back around to Boika, who made the call with the shorter stack.

Aliaksei Boika: QJ
Jon Ander Vallinas: KQ

Vallinas had Boika dominated with his king queen. The board ran out 636A7. Neither player improved and so Vallinas held up with his king high.

Boika was eliminated in 7th place for €35,050. He had also pulled €53,000 in bounties to give him a grand total of €88,050 in winnings.

Andrea Crobu Eliminated in 6th place (€45,550)

Level 33 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Andrea Crobu
Andrea Crobu

Anton Kraous raised to 450,000 from under the gun. Action folded to Jeremie Zouari, who called on the button. Andrea Crobu called in the big blind and three players went to the flop.

The flop came 109J and players checked to Zouari, who bet out for 200,000. Crobu called and Kraous folded.

The turn was the 3 and both players checked. The river came the A, Crobu checked and Kraous moved all in for the rest of Crobu's stack, around 1,275,000 effective.

Crobu went into the tank. "Ace-jack?" he asked, before shaking his head. Time passed by in silence as Crobu contemplated his decision. Eventually, he made the call.

Zouari showed his hand first, KQ. Crobu attempted to muck and the dealer flipped his hand, K10 for a pair of tens.

Crobu hadn't believed Zouari, but Zouari's bet had been a genuine one. He had flopped the nuts and made the top straight on the river. After winning the hand, he chipped up to give himself a chip lead of more than 2-1 on second place.

Crobu was eliminated in 6th place for €45,550. He had also pulled a €25,000 bounty and two €1,000 bounties to bring his total winnings for the event to €72,550.
