Naves Scores a Double KO

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer and Steve O'Dwyer were on the short stacks and both players were seen standing up from the table. A completed board of {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} was spread across the felt and Tauan Naves still had his {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} face up in front of him.

Ketzer apparently flopped a set of nines but Naves turned a set of jacks to eliminate both players and rise to the chip lead. O'Dwyer was already on his second bullet and will be done for the day with only a single reentry permitted.

Chidwick Down, But Not Out

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick was down to just 9,000 but doubled up from the small blind against Kayhan Mokri in the big blind. On the next hand, Chidwick moved all in for 20,000 on the button and Mokri called in the small blind.

Stephen Chidwick: {k-Spades}{8-Spades}
Kayhan Mokri: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Despite being dominated, the flop of {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} put Chidwick way out front with a pair and a flush draw. The {6-Spades} on the turn locked it up and the {3-Spades} on the river was just a formality.

Orpaz Pairs Up on the River

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Chris Brewer opened to 4,000 from under the gun and Niklas Astedt reraised to 12,000 on his left. Tom Orpaz flat-called from the small blind and Brewer stepped aside.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Orpaz check-called a bet of 11,000 from Astedt. The {6-Spades} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {8-Diamonds} on the river. Two more checks and Orpaz tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to claim the pot and add to his growing stack of chips.

Watson Defeats Petrangelo at Showdown

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Watson raised to 4,500 in the cutoff and was called by Sam Greenwood and Nick Petrangelo in the blinds. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the action checked to Watson who continued for 4,000. Greenwood folded but Petrangelo called to see the {5-Hearts} on the turn.

Petrangelo checked again and Watson sized up a bet of 19,000. Petrangelo still called and the {9-Spades} paired the board on the river. Both players tapped the table and Petrangelo showed {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Watson flipped over {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the better two pair to scoop the pot.

Mulder Shoves on Adams

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Timothy Adams and Teun Mulder were heads-up on the turn with the board reading {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Adams checked from the big blind and Mulder bet 15,000 on his left into a pot of around 20,000. Adams called and the {10-Clubs} completed the board.

Adams checked again and Mulder shipped all in for 44,000. Adams asked for a count and gave it some thought but decided to send his cards to the muck.
