A Better Kicker for Margereson
Level 12
: Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
After Andras Nemeth opened to 4,000 from middle position, Scott Margereson called from the cutoff, as well as Wouter Beltz in the big blind.
On a flop of A♥J♦4♦, Beltz and Nemeth checked to Margereson, who bet 7,500. Beltz called, but Nemeth folded.
The two remaining players checked on the turn 2♥. And there was no more action on the river 9♠ , as they both checked again.
At the same time, they turn over their cards with Beltz having K♦10♣ for a missed straight draw. But Margereson had K♠Q♦ for king-high with the best kicker, so he scooped the pot.
