Mehmet Demirkol opened from the hijack to 50,000. Leonid Sidelkovskiy moved all in for around 200,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Demirkol called.
Leonid Sidelkovskiy: 9♦8♦
Mehmet Demirkol: A♣A♦
Sidelkovskiy scoffed as Demirkol turned over his hands but he was given some hope on the J♣5♠8♠ flop. He couldn't find another eight or a nine on the K♣ turn and 4♥ river and was sent to the rail.
Lyudmil Ivanov opened to 50,000 from early position, and action folded to Simone Demasi in the small blind, who three-bet jammed for 385,000. Ivanov made the quick call with the covering stack.
Simone Demasi: J♣10♣
Lyudmil Ivanov: A♣A♦
Demasi had run straight into Ivanov's rockets, and although he picked up a flush draw on the turn on the 5♣4♠3♠4♣8♠ runout, it did not hit and Demasi made his way to the exit.
Erdem Akmert raised to 50,000 in the hijack. Umit Sadi then tossed in his final 230,000 chips on the button, after which Viliyan Petleshkov also moved in.
Akmert's stack of 530,000 was covered by Petleshkov, but he made a quick call for his tournament life.
Andrey Daniliuk had gotten a few shoves through since play restarted after the break, but his luck soon ran out after a pot with Andre Marquardt.
On a flop of 2♥2♠8♠, Daniliuk got the rest of his stack in and was put at risk by Marquardt.
Andrey Daniliuk: J♣J♦
Andre Marquardt: K♦2♣
Unfortunately for Daniliuk, his opponent had flopped trips, which left him needing to hit one of his two outs. Neither of those outs appeared on the runout of 7♠7♦, which sent Daniliuk to the rail.
Omer Cubukcu was all in for 435,000 and at-risk versus Vytautas Milbutas.
Omer Cubukcu: 8♥8♦
Vytautas Milbutas: A♦Q♦
Cubukcu was ahead in the flip, and remained so after the 9♦6♠3♥ flop. However, the Q♥ hit on the turn to put Milbutas in front, and the 2♥ confirmed Cubukcu's fate.
Dmitry Vitkind shoved for 75,000 from early position and Patrick Humphreys shoved behind for a little under 300,000.
Dmitry Vitkind: Q♠6♥
Patrick Humphreys: A♦Q♥
Vitkind was hoping to see some sixes, but saw them upside-down as the flop of A♥9♥9♣ put him on the brink of elimination. Humphreys locked up the pot on the J♦ turn, and the 3♠ river was just a formality, which meant Vitkind was eliminated.
Preben Stokkan made it 40,000 from early position and Aurelie Reard shoved for 420,000 from the cutoff. Big-stacked Antonios Onoufriou then moved all in from the button, which got Stokkan to fold relatively quickly.
Aurelie Reard: 10♦10♥
Antonios Onoufriou: K♥K♠
Reard had run right into Onoufriou's cowboys and couldn't escape the lasso as the runout of 5♣A♠A♣7♦A♦ meant she was eliminated with a smaller full house.
Georgios Tsouloftas and Victoria Livschitz were heads up in a pot of 295,000. Tsouloftas sat in the small blind and bet 60,000 on a flop of 10♥10♠2♥. Livschitz called to the 8♥ turn, where Tsouloftas fired an additional 115,000.
Livschitz immediately mucked her cards and the next hand was dealt.
In that hand, Ali Emre Ozcan shoved all in for 115,000 from the hijack and was called by Alexandre Reard in the small blind.
Ali Emre Ozcan: A♦2♦
Alexandre Reard: A♥10♥
Neither player paired up on the 7♦8♣J♥5♣3♦ board, leaving Reard's ace-ten high good enough to take the pot and eliminate Ozcan.
Pieter Theelen was dealt premiums in back-to-back hands which brought some adrenaline to the table.
First, Aleksandr Razinkov raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Theelen made it 120,000 from the next seat. When it got back to Razinkov, he shoved for around 700,000, and Theelen snap-called.
Aleksandr Razinkov: K♥K♣
Pieter Theelen: K♦K♠
Both had the same hand but Razinkov was freerolling after the flop of Q♣9♣6♣ gave him a flush draw. Luckily for Theelen, the board bricked out, coming 8♦10♥, which meant they chopped the pot.
In the very next hand, Theelen raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Tetiana Demydenko shoved for around 300,000 from middle position. When it got back to Theelen, he called.
Tetiana Demydenko: 10♠10♥
Pieter Theelen: Q♣Q♥
Theelen managed to win this one as the runout of J♥6♣9♠5♦2♠ kept his pocket queens in the lead, which sent Demydenko to the rail.
"It was such a relaxing vibe, then just all this adrenaline out of nowhere," said Theelen after the hand. "You see guys, I only play these kinds of hands," he added.
