Gordo Falls Victim to Abelmasov's Late-Night Surge

Marian Virlanuta raised to 60,000 in the cutoff. Igor Abelmasov called in the small blind before Guillermo Gordo three-bet all in for 475,000 in the big blind.

Virlanuta quickly folded but Abelmasov threw in a call.

Gordo flopped some extra outs on 5♥Q♠K♣, but neither his gutshot nor his pairs came in on the 2♣ turn or 9♠ river. He booked his exit while Abelmasov added more chips to his huge stack.

Akinobu Maeda raised to 60,000 in the cutoff and was three-bet to 160,000 by Georgios Tsouloftas on the button.

Maeda made the call to the 3♣K♣7♥ flop, where he check-called the bet of 110,000 that Tsouloftas put in the middle.

The 4♠ turn was then checked through before Tsouloftas bet 350,000 on the J♣ river. Maeda shoved all in for 1,000,000 in response. Tsouloftas spent a short while in the tank before flicking in a calling chip.

Maeda tabled 5♦5♣ for a pair of fives. Tsouloftas had that beat with K♥Q♣ for top pair, raking in the big pot and ending up with more than 100 big blinds in his stack.
