Worthington-Leese Sends Savsa For an Early Shower

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Leo Worthington-Leese
Leo Worthington-Leese

With around 50,000 chips already in the pot on a board of 95Q7, Yueksel Savsa had checked it over to Leo Worthington-Leese, who fired a bet of 45,000. Savsa then put in a raise to around 100,000, and Worthington-Leese called.

A 4 dropped on the river and Savsa instantly shoved for around 150,000, and Worthington-Leese snap-called.

Savsa quickly tabled Q7 for two pair, but Worthington-Leese had that crushed with 86 for a turned straight that improved to a flush on the river, to eliminate Savsa.

Virlanuta Continues to Build

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Day 2 chip leader Marian Virlanuta opened to 18,000 from the cutoff. Action folded to Marcin Dziubdziela in the big blind, who only had 19,000 behind. He took a peek at his cards, thought for a moment, and tossed his remaining chips into the middle.

Marcin Dziubdziela: 109 All in
Marian Virlanuta: K3

Dziubdziela needed some help from the board, but none arrived on the A732Q runout, Virlanuta's pair of threes taking the pot.

Pora Gets Richer After Eliminating Wisniewski

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Tomasz Wisniewski opened the cutoff to 12,000 and Dumitru Pora three-bet from the small blind to 40,000. Wisniewski then four-bet to 82,000, leaving himself just 2,000 behind.

"I'll wait 30 seconds before I go all in," said Pora in an attempt to help Wisniewski make a pay jump. Pora then shoved, then almost immediately the clock was called on Wisniewski and a 30-second countdown was initiated. When the countdown got to 2 seconds remaining, Wisniewski called.

Tomasz Wisniewski: AK All in
Dumitru Pora: 1010

Wisniewski couldn't find any piece on the 987210 runout, which meant he was eliminated — without making a pay jump — as Pora improved to a set.

Carvalho Sent Home Via the River

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a flop of 676 in a single-raised pot, Manuel Carvalho check-shoved his stack of 36,000 over a continuation-bet of 15,000 from Marios Stefani. After just a few seconds, Stefani called which put Carvalho at risk.

Manuel Carvalho: 97 All in
Marios Stefani: A10

Carvalho was well in the lead and even removed some of Stefani's outs when the 8 fell on the turn. However, the disastrous A landed on the river, which sent Carvalho packing.

Stephan Kurland: 84All in
Sebastien Compte: 96

Spragg and Hand Head Home

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Benjamin Spragg
Benjamin Spragg

Leo Worthington-Leese raised to 12,000 under the gun. Pablo Minguez called in the seat next over before the action folded to PokerStars' Benjamin Spragg in the small blind.

He was down to 50,000, which he promptly put in the middle. Worthington-Leese looked him up before Minguez quickly got out of the way.

Benjamin Spragg: KK All in
Leo Worthington-Leese: JJ

"What a scorcher," Worthington-Leese said regarding Spragg's hand.

It started to look like a comfortable double-up for Spragg when the 5A4 flop and 5 turn posed no threat. The river came the J, however, giving Worthington-Leese a full house to send out Spragg.

"That's also a scorcher," Worthington-Leese noted.

The pair exchanged some banter before Spragg joined his fellow Red Spade Fintan Hand, who had busted some minutes earlier, on the rail.

Betbese Punishes Brito

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Nicolas Betbese
Nicolas Betbese

Action folded to Pablo Brito on the button, who decided to size up with his open, pumping it up to 36,000. Nicolas Betbese was in the small blind, and he produced a three-bet to 78,000. After a long period of thought, Brito, with about 160,000 behind, just called.

On the 1073 flop, Betbese took his time before moving all in with the covering stack, sending Brito into the tank. After around two minutes of thought, Brito made the call.

Pablo Brito: AQ All in
Nicolas Betbese: KK

Brito was in big trouble with ace-high versus Betbese's cowboys, and the 810 turn and river were bricks to send Brito to the exit.
