Women's Event at NAPT Las Vegas Will Feature $30,000 Guarantee

PokerStars listened to feedback from female poker players on how to draw women to the game, and now the poker site is responding.

The upcoming PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas festival will feature a $330 buy-in Women's Event on Nov. 5. Notably, the event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool attached.

Last year's NAPT Women's Event had a $360 price tag and drew 94 entrants for a prize pool of $28,200. That means PokerStars is expecting this year's event to be an even greater success.

The Women's Event will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 5 and allows for unlimited reentry. The event will feature 30-minute levels and will see players starting with stacks of 30,000.

Arthur Thiriart opened from under the gun to 1,200. Krum Polihronov called from early position. Grzegorz Kozieja defended the big blind.

Thiriart check-called a bet of 1,500 on the flop 10♥6♦5♥ from Polihronov. Kozieja folded. Both players checked the 6♣ after taking some time in the tank. Thiriart then led for 5,500 on the Q♣ river and Polihronov called quickly. He had 7♠7♣ and Thiriart had A♥9♠ for a bluff.

The Q♠ turn checked through to the 10♣ on the river. Timergazin checked again and then folded to a wager of 18,700 from Kirichenko.
