Lin Joins Field, Wins Two Pots

Ren Lin had just scooped in a small pot after raising and then making a continuation bet to get his opponent out of the pot. The next hand, he defended in the big blind against a middle position raise from Walid Bou Habib.

The flop came 4♥9♦K♥ and Lin checked. Habib bet 700 and Lin called. The turn was the 5♣ and Lin checked again. Habib bet 2,200 and Lin called.

Both players then checked to showdown on the 5♦ river. Lin had K♦J♠ for a pair of kings and Habib mucked his hand, conceding the pot.

One of the most entertaining shows in poker is stepping it up a notch as PokerStars announced that the next season of Big Game on Tour will feature four-time Super Bowl champion and NFL star Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski.

Gronkowski, who spent 11 seasons as a tight end in the NFL and is now a sports analyst, will compete on the upcoming The Big Game on Tour season alongside the pros, Loose Cannons and sports media personality Nick Wright, whose appearance was also confirmed on Thursday.

“I’m always up for a challenge, and diving into the world of poker is going to be an amazing new adventure for me," Gronkowski said in a press release. “I’m beyond excited to play alongside some of the best in the game and tackle the high-stakes action. Just like on the football field, I’ll be bringing my competitive edge and giving it everything I’ve got at the tables.”

Heidorn Pushes Wu Out on the River

Pingfeng Wu made it 1,000 from the hijack and Catalin Moraru called on the button before Robert Heidorn three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind. Wu called, and Moraru folded.

They went to a flop of 6♦9♥2♣ where Heidorn fired a continuation-bet of 2,700, and Wu called.

Both then checked the 9♣ turn to the A♠ river where Heidorn led out for 10,000. Wu thought about it for a while but ultimately elected to fold, which earned Heidorn the pot.

Ilija Savevski opened to 900 in early position, and received calls from two players, as well as Xiaohu Liu in the big blind.

The 8♥6♠5♦ flop was checked through. On the 5♥ turn, Liu led out with a bet of 1,500, which Savevski quickly pumped up to 5,500.

Both other players quickly got out of the way, and Liu ultimately followed suit after a few minutes of thought.

Nikolay Yosifov raised to 800 from the button and Aleksandar Tomovic moved all in from the big blind with a short stack of just 3,800. Yosifov was committed to a pot odds call and threw in the chips to put Tomovic at risk.

With roughly 10,000 already in the pot and the board reading K♥8♦2♠Q♠2♥, Ghassan Yared led out with a bet of 4,000 as the first to act. Jiaming Zhao wasted no time responding, shoving all-in for around 34,000. Yared seemed visibly conflicted, taking his time to consider the situation before folding, showing the K♦ as he did. In a playful gesture, Zhao revealed a 7x, sparking some laughter around the table when another player jokingly asked, "Seven-deuce?"

Rania Nasreddine has had quite the run at the EPT this year. Incredibly, she finished third in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event for €442,900 and then fourth in the Barcelona Main Event a few months later for €518,600.

Nasreddine will be looking for another deep run here in Cyprus, but only has one more shot left after she was seen leaving the tournament area after busting her first bullet.

Around 5,200 was in the middle on a flop of 9♣5♦4♥ in a hand between Daniil Shalaev in middle position and Morten Klein in the big blind.

Klein led out with a bet of 1,300, and was faced with a raise to 4,000 by his opponent. Klein called.

On the 2♣ turn, Klein was not deterred by the action on the previous street, and again led out with a bet of 5,000. After some thought, Shalaev called.

The 9♠ river completed the board, and Klein moved all in for 22,000, leading to a swift fold from Shalaev.

Shark Attack! Palma Devours Gabdullin's Jack-Ten with All-In Bite

Jose Valls Rebollar made it 900 from the hijack and Damir Gabdullin three-bet the cutoff to 3,000. Nick Palma was on the button and pushed all of his 18,500 chips into the middle while holding a stuff shark toy and repeating "The shark is coming, the shark is coming,".

Rebollar got out of the way, and after a few moments contemplating, Gabdullin stuck in the call.

Gabdullin didn't like what he saw and didn't pick up much hope with the 4♥Q♠2♠ flop, which left him needing to hit running cards to eliminate Palma. However, the 4♠10♥ runout locked up the pot for Palma, who celebrated with his shark toy.

"Yum, yum, yum," said Palma while his shark toy went on a feeding frenzy with the chips he just won.

"This guy thinks he can KO me with jack-ten? I flew here for this. He calls with jack-ten? I mean I'd swim here for this!" Palma continued.
