Larsen Leads River
Level 17
: Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Nikolay Ponomarev opened from early position to 9,000. Action folded around to Birger Larsen who defended the big blind.
Larsen then checked the 7♥J♦K♦ flop to Ponomarev who fired a bet of 7,000. Larsen called. The 2♣ turn was checked around leading to the K♣ river. Larsen elected to lead out for 21,000. Ponomarev took a moment before making the call. Larsen tabled K♠9♠ for trip kings and Ponomarev mucked.
