Afriat then took a few minutes before checking on the Q♥ river, whereafter Normand instantly checked back. Afriat reluctantly showed his 9♠6♥ for nine-high, which was beaten by the 8♦8♣ of Normand.
He won a large pot while the rest of the table full of big names looked on.
