Ponakovs Doubles Though Hansen
Level 21
: Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Sindre Hansen opened to 40,000 on the button and Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet to 200,000 from the big blind, leaving himself just 35,000 behind. Hansen just called.
Ponakovs checked to Hansen on the J♦8♦7♣ flop and he bet enough to put Ponakovs all in. Ponakovs quickly called and hands were turned face up.
Aleksejs Ponakovs: A♣8♣
Sindre Hansen: A♠6♥
Ponakovs had way the best of it with his pair of eights. The 4♦ turn gave Hansen a sweat with a gutshot straight draw, but the 7♥ river bricked out and Ponakovs doubled his stack.
