Since the break, the defending champion of this very event has more than doubled and now sits firmly in the top ten of the leaderboard.
On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the K♥9♦8♥9♣5♠ river, Pavlos Xanthopoulos bet 2,300 in the small blind. Jose Carvajal raised to 7,000 in an early position and Xanthopoulos called.
Carjaval tabled the K♣Q♥ and it was good enough to win the pot on a table filled with notables.
Justin Saliba raised to 1,000 as first to act and Javier Fernandez Alonso put in a three-bet to 3,500. The action folded back to Saliba, who made the call.
