Beresford Seems Suprised to be Good at Showdown

David Riha raised to 1,600 from early position, Conor Beresford called in the hijack, as did the big blind.

The Q♣A♣9♥ flop checked through to the J♥ on the turn. The big blind checked again and Riha bet out 2,000. Only Beresford called.

The J♦ river saw Riha check.

"I can't do it," said Beresford as he checked back, clearly choosing not to bluff at the pot.

"Oh, I didn't have to," Beresford gladly announced as Riha showed K♠9♠ for a pair of nines. Beresford rolled over 10♣10♥, winning the hand without having to bluff at the pot.

The 7♠3♦2♥ flop saw Romeu check and then call a bet of 2,100 from Martin.

The 8♦ turn saw Romeu check again. Martin sized up to 4,200 and Romeu check-raised, moving all in for Martin's effective stack of approximately 24,000. Martin tanked for some time before making the fold.

Michael Birchler opened to 1,300 under the gun with Maksim Haitsiukevich calling from the cutoff and Tomas Hajek making the call out of the small blind.

The 7♥J♠9♦ flop was checked to Birchler and he bet 1,500. Haitsiukevich called, but Hajek folded.

Birchler chose to check the 9♣ turn and then faced a bet of 4,400 from Haitsiukevich. Birchler called.

When the J♣ dropped on the river, Birchler led out for 4,000 and Haitsiukevich reluctantly called. Birchler tabled J♦10♥ for a full house and Haitsiukevich mucked his hand.

The J♥6♦Q♠ flop checked through to the 8♠ on the turn. The action checked to Beresford, who took the lead for 4,800 and only Rebollar called.

The 2♦ turn slowed down Beresford with a check. Rebollar bet out 7,600 and Beresford went deep into the tank, eventually making the call.

Rebollar rolled over K♦10♦ for a missed straight draw, while Beresford won this pot with A♠8♥ for a pair of eights.
