Shupa Makes the Correct Call

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Peter Onnestam raised to 10,000 from the hijack, Artur Shupa clicked it back to 15,000 from the button and Onnestam called.

The 668 flop saw Onnestam play in flow. Shupa continued for 12,000 and Onnestam check-raised, moving all in for 71,000. Shupa tanked for some time before making the call.

Peter Onnestam: A4 All in
Artur Shupa: AK

Shupa was ahead with ace-high and the 3 turn changed nothing. However, the 2 river gave Onnestam the nut flush to double up.

Ariyanayagam Turns a One-Outer

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Sutharsan Ariyanayagam shoved under the gun for 81,000 and Candido Cappiello moved all in himself over the top from the small blind for 145,000. Jason Wheeler looked at his cards in the big blind and called with the covering stack.

Sutharsan Ariyanayagam: JJ All in
Candido Cappiello: KK All in
Jason Wheeler QQ

Cappiello just had to hold with kings to become one of the biggest stacks in the room. The 923 flop was great for Cappiello as he picked up a flush draw, taking away half of his opponent's outs. However, the J came on the turn to put Ariyanayagam in the lead with top set. A clean A fell on the river, which meant Ariyanayagam tripled up, Cappiello ended with a similar amount as how he started the hand, and Wheeler was left with roughly 50,000.

Lofberg Bets His Last Chip on the River

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Simon Lofberg opened the action to 25,000, leaving a single 1,000-chip behind. Clement Kerrien called, and they both saw a flop.

The flop came 10A2, and both players checked.

The dealer put out the J on the turn, and both players checked again.

When the 2 landed on the river, Lofberg bet his final 1,000, and Kerrien, laughing, made the call, clearly committed to the pot.

"Thank you," said Lofberg, as he tabled A8 and doubled up against Kerrien's 4x4x.

Pierre Ochsenbein: A2 All in
Enguerran Freslon: A10

Drbal Doubles With Quads

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Eduardo Pereira raised to 8,000 under the gun. Cristian Bumbu called from the button, Vaclav Drbal called out of the small blind and Eduardo Pereira defended his big blind.

When it checked to Nemetz on the K56 flop, he bet 9,000. Bumbu folded, but Drbal check-raised to 22,000. After Pereira folded, Nemetz shoved for Drbal's remaining 60,000. Drbal snap-called.

Vaclav Drbal: 66 All in
Stefan Nemetz: AK

Nemetz had top pair but was up against the set of Drbal and needed running cards to win the pot. The 6 turn improved Drbal to quads and left Nemetz drawing dead, as an inconsequential 4 fell on the river.

Cassandra Yong
Cassandra Yong

Matheus Machado raised to 8,000 from early position with Nikolai Ogoltsov calling from the hijack before Cassandra Yong three-bet shoved for 46,000 from the button. Machado shoved over the top for roughly 80,000 and Ogoltsov folded.

Cassandra Yong: AQ All in

It was a classic flip that Yong needed to win to stay alive. However, the low runout of 275106 didn't improve Yong and she was out of the tournament.

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The cards were already on their back between Yarin Hart and Jiri Kun.

Yarin Hart: KxKx All in
Jiri Kun: AK

With 40 players left before Day 2, Hart was in a very favorable position to double up his stack. However, the runout was quite unfortunate for him as the board came 102A47, and Kun added more to his stack.
