Martynenko Runs Into Kings

Vladyslav Martynenko raised to 6,000 from middle position and Thomas Santerne three-bet to 16,000 from the big blind. Martynenko then moved all in and Santerne quickly called with the bigger stack. Players flipped their cards.

The board ran out 8♣2♦8♦K♥Q♦ and Santerne further improved to kings-full. He won the pot and Martynenko was eliminated during the final level of the day.

Arrocha's Comeback Falls Short

Level 7 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Mario Navarro Arrocha had mounted a comeback from less than two big blinds to around 30,000 in chips and had just successfully gotten a shove through on the previous hand.

The next hand, Vladyslav Martynenko raised to 5,000 from late position and Arrocha called in the big blind.

The flop came 8♥K♦9♦ and Arrocha checked. Martynenko continued for 4,000 and Arrocha check-raised to 12,000. Martynenko moved all in and Arrocha called for the rest of his stack.

Arrocha flipped over K♣2♥ for a pair of kings, but Martynenko had K♠10♠ for a pair of kings with higher kicker. The turn was the A♣ and river the A♠, so Martynenko's kicker played and he won the pot. Arrocha had done well to recover his stack, but his run was over.

Neugebauer Busts After Calling River

There was around 90,000 in the middle on the river on a board of 10♠K♦9♥6♣7♣ as Thomas Santerne pushed all in, putting his opponent, Max Neugebauer, under pressure for the rest of his stack.

Neugebauer went into the tank and raised his eyebrows with a pained expression in his face as he pushed a few chips forward to signify the call. He had 10♣9♣ for two pair, but Santerne turned over Q♥J♣ for a straight to win the pot.

Santerne chipped up to around 240,000, while Neugebauer was eliminated from the tournament.

Mulder Runs Into Astedt's Aces

It's not Teun Mulder's day today as he was sent to the rail for the second time within the first five levels.

Mulder had all his chips in the middle, a little under 50,000, against Niklas Astedt, who had him well covered as players flipped their cards.

Mulder was drawing very thin as the board ran out 9♣5♦9♠8♦9♦ and was drawing dead by the turn. Astedt held with his pocket aces to win the pot, while Mulder was eliminated. After firing his only reentry, Mulder is well and truly out of the event.

Meanwhile, Wouter Beltz has joined the game.

Zouari Wins Pot With River Raise, Busts Moments Later

Action was on the flop on a board of K♠6♦2♠ and Mario Navarro Arrocha checked to his opponent. Jeremie Zouari bet 3,500 and Arrocha called. Both players then checked it back on the K♣ turn.

The river was the 4♥ and Arrocha bet 4,000. Zouari raised it up to 15,000 and Arrocha folded to give him the pot.

It looked like Zouari was ready to mount a comeback, but moments later he was involved in another pot, this time costing him his tournament life.

Action was on the river on a board of 3♦4♦6♣8♦9♣ with around 20,000 in the middle, when Zouari moved all in, an overbet to the pot. Daisuke Ogita thought about it for a moment before looking Zouari up with a call.

Zouari showed J♥2♦ for a bluff, while Ogita turned over A♠8♣ for a pair of eights, which was enough to win the pot and send Zouari to the rail.

Segebrecht Busts as Vaskresenski Makes Full House

Action was on the river on a board of 3♦5♣9♠9♦K♣ and Claas Segebrecht shoved all in for around 60,000 to 70,000. Maksim Vaskresenski snap called.

Segebrecht showed A♠9♥ for trip nines, but Vaskresenski had 5♥5♦ for a full house. Segebrecht was eliminated, while Vaskresenski, a wry smile on his face, added yet more to his stack, which now stood at more than 300,000.

Yauheni Tsiareshchanka was also eliminated from the tournament around a similar time, and Max Neugebauer joined the mix.

Paul Lagan shoved all in from under the gun for 21,500 on what was a six-handed table. Sonny Franco asked how much before placing in a call from the button. The rest of the table folded to leave two players to flip their cards, with Lagan at risk.

Lagan sighed as he saw what he was up against. He did find a glimmer of hope as the flop came 5♠3♠2♣ to give him the nut flush draw. That hope faded as the turn came the K♦ and river the J♣. Franco held with his aces. He won the pot and Lagan was eliminated.

Meanwhile, Mulder has jumped back into the competition after busting out moments before.
