Buldygin Raises the River, Then Eliminates Jorstad

Viacheslav Buldygin on the button raised to 6,000, then called after Artsiom Lasouski to his left three-bet to 17,000.

Both players checked all the way through a board of J♠9♦K♦J♦, but Lasouski bet 16,000 on the 2♦ river. Buldygin went into the tank, and raised to 66,000.

Lasouski seemed to face a tough decision. He used a time bank extension and eventually folded.

A few hands later, Espen Jorstad ran into Buldygin's aces and was sent to the rail.

Buldygin checked the 4♦7♠3♣ flop, then called after Tsiareshchanka bet 8,500.

The 10♦ turn was checked by both players, and the 7♥ river didn't bring more action. Buldygin immediately flipped over 6♠5♠ for a flopped straight, which made his opponents laugh.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 21st episode, Connor speaks with Survivor legend Boston Rob, aka Rob Mariano, about growing up near Fenway Park, learning poker at the age of 6, studying psychology at Boston University, applying for Survivor and winning Season 22, his recent appearance on Deal or No Deal Island and filming an upcoming season of The Traitors.

Boston Rob also revealed a story about Costa Rican authorities raiding a mansion known to host high-stakes poker games during a 2006 filming that included Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, David Williams, Michael Mizrachi and actress Cheryl Hines.

"(Gambling mogul) Calvin (Ayre) had a big party at the house, and they came in guns drawn," he said. "And we were fine, but we all had to stay at the party until they checked our passports and everything. I think it was a little bit of a shakedown. But we had a good weekend."

All three of them checked the K♠6♣J♠ flop and the J♥ turn, but on the K♦ river, O'Dwyer led out for 10,000.

Mulder went into the tank and raised to 37,000. Both Buldygin and O'Dwyer snap-folded.

Heads-up on a board of 10♥9♣9♥, Steve O'Dywer bet 3,500 from under the gun and called after Artsiom Lasouski in the big blind check-raised to 11,500.

Lasouski continued for 12,000 on the 8♦ turn. However this time, it was O'Dwyer's turn to raise to 30,000. Lasouski made the call.

The 3♣ completed the board and after Lasouski checked, O'Dwyer bet 100,000. Lasouski called, finding himself at risk for 49,500.
