Janicsak’s Pair of Aces Hold Firm

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tamas Janicsak opened the action with a raise to 2,200 from early position, drawing calls from Henning Lokenlien in the cutoff and Niclas Thumm in the big blind.

The 2A8 flop saw no bets, as all three players opted to check.

On the 5 turn, Thumm seized the initiative with a bet of 3,800. Janicsak quickly responded with a raise to 7,500, prompting Lokenlien to fold. Thumm, after some thought, made the call.

The J river brought no further action as both players checked. Janicsak revealed A3 for a pair of aces, and Thumm conceded by mucking his cards, awarding the pot to Janicsak.

Pavlo Veksler was all in from the small blind for around 20,000 against Ovidiu Chirieac in the big blind, who had him well covered. Players flipped their cards, with Veksler at risk.

Pavlo Veksler: Q10 All in
Ovidiu Chirieac: AA

Chirieac had pocket aces and there was no sweat on the flop as the board ran out A2AQ5 to give him quads. Veksler didn't look too surprised as he took his leave.

"You should have seen the first hand of the day," said Veksler as he left the table. He presumably didn't run too good today.

Flush Over Flush: Rasmussen Doubles Up

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

PokerNews picked up the action on a board of 9A434, where Rasmus Rasmussen had already fired a bet of 6,000 from the cutoff following a check from Maximilian Monch in the big blind.

Monch deliberated for a while before shoving all in, comfortably covering Rasmussen. After some careful thought, rechecking his cards, and calculating his stack, Rasmussen made the call, setting up a dramatic showdown.

Confidently, Monch declared, “Flush!” as he revealed 72. However, Rasmussen had him beat, turning over Q10 for a higher flush. The call secured a crucial double-up for Rasmussen, leaving Monch visibly frustrated and shaking his head.
