Trevidy Bests Two Monsters to Double

Georgios Karakousis bet 2,000 from early position on a flop of K♦Q♦4♥ and Ewen Trevidy called in middle position. Iuri Maia then raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and both opponents called.

The turn was the 8♦ and Trevidy bet 6,000. Maia just called this time, as did Karakousis and the 3♠ fell on the river. Trevidy then moved all in for 18,100.

Maia spent a minute in the tank before calling, while Karakousis quickly tossed away A♥A♠. Trevidy showed J♦9♦ for a turned flush and Maia mucked 4♠4♦ for a beaten set before handing over the double up.

Sitbon Hits the Tank and Correctly Calls

Action was on the river on a board of 8♦10♦K♠J♣6♠ and Julien Sitbon was deep in the tank against an all-in.

A player at the table came over to recount the action and said that after a raise and call preflop, the action had checked down on the flop and turn. There was around 17,000 in the pot and Sitbon had led out with a bet of 8,500 and Paul Jabbari moved all in for 33,000.

Sitbon had apparently been in the tank for around seven minutes. Time was called and the floor gave Sitbon 30 seconds to act. The time was down to the last few seconds before Sitbon plonked his chips in the middle.

Jabbari showed A♦J♦ for a pair of jacks and missed flush draw. Sitbon, clearly relieved, turned over K♥J♠ for two pair to win the pot, sending Jabbari to the rail.

Sitbon apologized for taking so long, and discussed the possibilities with the table, stating that his opponent could have had a straight. In any case, he scooped in the chips and Jabbari left.

Action was on the turn on a board 8♣8♥4♠8♠ and there was around 17,000 in the pot. Humberto Lopes Galindo checked and Andreas Goeller moved all in.

Galindo called with the shorter stack and revealed 5♦5♥ for a full house, eights full of fives. Goeller, however, had 10♦10♠ for a higher full house.

The river came the A♥ and Goeller held to win the pot, sending Galindo to the exit.

Konnikova Can't Raise Out Danchev

Maria Konnikova raised to 2,400 in middle position and Dimitar Danchev called in the small blind.

Konnikova continued for 2,000 on the A♥8♥7♦ flop and Danchev raised to 6,500. Konnikova called and the J♠ fell on the turn.

Danchev then bet another 6,500 and Konnikova again called. The river was the 5♦ and Danchev bet 3,200, but this time Konnikova came back with a raise to 10,000.

Danchev took a minute before calling as Konnikova showed 3♥3♣, but Danchev had A♦Q♦ for top pair to win the pot.

Tapinas Takes Lord's Name in Vain After Lascar Spikes Set

Alexander Shevliakov raised to 1,600 from middle position and picked up three callers, including David Lascar in the next seat across. Andrius Tapinas then three-bet to 7,800 from the big blind. Shevliakov folded and Lascar moved all in for 21,000. Only Tapinas made the call and had Lascar well covered as players turned their cards.

Tapinas was way out ahead with pocket jacks, until the flop came 10♥3♦2♣ to give Lascar a set of deuces. The turn came the 9♦ and river the Q♠. Lascar held and doubled his stack.

Tapinas was so angry that he took the Lord's name in vain, saying "Jesus Christ" as he handed over the chips with a visible look of anguish on his face.

Oya Spikes the Turn to Bust Kulev; Stand-Up Trick Works For Duta

Masashi Oya and Alex Kulev were heads-up on a flop of 4♥2♦5♠ with around 13,000 in the pot when Kulev got his last 20,000 in the middle from the small blind, and Oya put him at risk from middle position.

Kulev was ahead with his aces, while Oya was chasing a straight draw. The 8♥ turn gave Oya his straight and Kulev was already drawing dead before the 9♠ river, and on his way to the exit.

At the same time at another table, Florian Duta was all in for 15,200 from the big blind and up against Dmitrii Prusov in the hijack.

Prusov hit a pair on the J♣3♣7♠ flop to take the lead, while the turn came the 9♦. Duta was down to just two outs and already standing up from his seat, but the 2♣ spiked on the river to give him a set and a miracle double up.

"Stand-up works every time," Duta said, sitting back down.
