Trevidy Bests Two Monsters to Double

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Ewen Trevidy
Ewen Trevidy

Georgios Karakousis bet 2,000 from early position on a flop of KQ4 and Ewen Trevidy called in middle position. Iuri Maia then raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and both opponents called.

The turn was the 8 and Trevidy bet 6,000. Maia just called this time, as did Karakousis and the 3 fell on the river. Trevidy then moved all in for 18,100.

Maia spent a minute in the tank before calling, while Karakousis quickly tossed away AA. Trevidy showed J9 for a turned flush and Maia mucked 44 for a beaten set before handing over the double up.

Sitbon Hits the Tank and Correctly Calls

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action was on the river on a board of 810KJ6 and Julien Sitbon was deep in the tank against an all-in.

A player at the table came over to recount the action and said that after a raise and call preflop, the action had checked down on the flop and turn. There was around 17,000 in the pot and Sitbon had led out with a bet of 8,500 and Paul Jabbari moved all in for 33,000.

Sitbon had apparently been in the tank for around seven minutes. Time was called and the floor gave Sitbon 30 seconds to act. The time was down to the last few seconds before Sitbon plonked his chips in the middle.

Jabbari showed AJ for a pair of jacks and missed flush draw. Sitbon, clearly relieved, turned over KJ for two pair to win the pot, sending Jabbari to the rail.

Sitbon apologized for taking so long, and discussed the possibilities with the table, stating that his opponent could have had a straight. In any case, he scooped in the chips and Jabbari left.

Julian Garcia: AK All in

Tapinas Takes Lord's Name in Vain After Lascar Spikes Set

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Alexander Shevliakov raised to 1,600 from middle position and picked up three callers, including David Lascar in the next seat across. Andrius Tapinas then three-bet to 7,800 from the big blind. Shevliakov folded and Lascar moved all in for 21,000. Only Tapinas made the call and had Lascar well covered as players turned their cards.

David Lascar: 22 All in
Andrius Tapinas: JJ

Tapinas was way out ahead with pocket jacks, until the flop came 1032 to give Lascar a set of deuces. The turn came the 9 and river the Q. Lascar held and doubled his stack.

Tapinas was so angry that he took the Lord's name in vain, saying "Jesus Christ" as he handed over the chips with a visible look of anguish on his face.

Oya Spikes the Turn to Bust Kulev; Stand-Up Trick Works For Duta

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Masashi Oya
Masashi Oya

Masashi Oya and Alex Kulev were heads-up on a flop of 425 with around 13,000 in the pot when Kulev got his last 20,000 in the middle from the small blind, and Oya put him at risk from middle position.

Alex Kulev: AA All in
Masashi Oya: 76

Kulev was ahead with his aces, while Oya was chasing a straight draw. The 8 turn gave Oya his straight and Kulev was already drawing dead before the 9 river, and on his way to the exit.

At the same time at another table, Florian Duta was all in for 15,200 from the big blind and up against Dmitrii Prusov in the hijack.

Florian Duta: 22 All in
Dmitrii Prusov: A3

Prusov hit a pair on the J37 flop to take the lead, while the turn came the 9. Duta was down to just two outs and already standing up from his seat, but the 2 spiked on the river to give him a set and a miracle double up.

"Stand-up works every time," Duta said, sitting back down.
