Montalban Pulls in Huge Pot After Schlueter Shoves Turn

Jamil Wakil opened the pot with a raise to 12,000 from under the gun. Heinz Schlueter called in the hijack and Manel Montalban called on the button.

On the 3♣6♣10♥ flop, action checked to Montalban, who made a bet of 25,000. Wakil called before Schlueter check-raised to 77,000. Montalban called and Wakil folded.

By the time the 9♥ turn was dealt, the pot was already worth around 200,000, giving Schlueter a pot-sized shove. Schlueter pulled the trigger, pushing 192,000 into the middle and leaving Montalban with a game-changing decision to make.

Montalban called and Schlueter showed K♣Q♣ for a flush draw with overcards. At this point, Schlueter probably thought he had a lot of outs, until Montalban flipped over A♣10♣ for a higher flush draw and pair of tens.

Schlueter needed a king or queen to pull ahead, but couldn't find what he was looking for as the river came the 10♦ to further improve Montalban's hand to trip tens.

Montalban scooped in a huge pot of around 400,000 and Schlueter was eliminated from the tournament.

Action folded around to Tjan Tepeh, who moved all in from the button for around 90,000. Mykhailo Demydenko made the call in the big blind with the covering stack and players flipped their cards.

Tepeh was in great shape and wasn't too fazed when Demydenko picked up a pair on the Q♣2♥9♣ flop. The turn was the 7♣, which also gave Demydenko a flush draw. The sweats were on.

The river came the 5♣ and Demydenko completed his flush, cracking Tepeh's kings and sending him to the exit.

Loeser Picks Off Favre-Felix; Pardo Flops a Set to Bust Betbese

Manig Loeser bet 10,000 from under the gun on a flop of J♥3♥A♥ and Adrien Favre-Felix called in the big blind.

Both players checked the 4♥ turn and the 6♠ fell on the river. Favre-Felix then led out for 30,000 and Loeser called.

Favre-Felix showed Q♠3♠, while Loeser had A♠Q♥ for a flush to win the pot.

The previous hand at this table, Juan Pardo had moved all in from the small blind on a board of 10♠8♦K♠4♠6♣ and Nicolas Betbese called for his last 30,000 in middle position.

Betbese showed K♥J♥ for top pair, but Pardo had 8♣8♥ for a set to win the pot and send Betbese to the rail.

Rauhut had Chevalier dominated and not much changed as the flop was dealt J♣K♠3♠, with neither player holding a spade. The 8♥ turn was a blank and Rauhut was one card away from a double up.

The river, however, came the Q♣, which gave Rauhut a pair but completed Chevalier's straight.

"Oh, come on!" said Rauhut, before politely adding, "Pleasure playing with you all."

Montalban continued for 35,000 on the 7♠4♣6♠ flop and Rajkovic came back with a raise to 77,000. Montalban called and the 10♠ fell on the turn.

Rajkovic checked to Montalban who moved all in. Rajkovic, with around 150,000 remaining, snap-folded.

At another table, Valeriano Toledano was all in for 60,000 from middle position as Danielle Noja went for the knockout in early position.

Noja remained in the lead on the 5♦10♠3♠ flop, but Toledano caught the A♣ on the turn to make top pair. The river was the 3♦ and Toledano doubled up.

Garcia found an ace on the A♦8♣4♥ flop to make two pair and take the lead, but Golinski spiked the Q♥ on the turn for a set. The river was the 4♠ and the Day 1 chip leader was sent to the rail. Another tablemate admitted he folded a queen after the hand.

At another table, Manig Loeser got his short stack all in on a flop of K♣4♣3♥ with K♥Q♦, but Rafael Navas had A♦K♥ for top pair, ace-kicker and held up through the 5♣ turn and 10♣ river to send the 2019 champion to the rail.
