Mittal's Spin-Up Begins
Rahul Mittal has doubled twice in consecutive hands, increasing his stack to around a third of what he started with.
First, he jammed for a few big blinds under the gun and found a call from Umberto Vitagliano in the hijack.
Rahul Mittal: K♦Q♥
Umberto Vitagliano: 3♥3♠
It was a flip, and Mittal managed to navigate his way to the win after pairing his queen on the 8♥6♣Q♦J♦4♦ runout.
On the very next hand, Marcin Puczylowski raised to 1,300 from early position, and Thomas Hueber called from the next seat. Mittal ripped it in for about 4,800 from the big blind, which Hueber called.
Rahul Mittal: 7♥6♦
Thomas Hueber: K♦10♦
Mittal was behind, but that didn't matter as the J♠6♣8♣5♦9♦ runout gave him a straight, completing back-to-back doubles and taking his stack up to five figures.
