Rasmussen takes out Sokalski

Rasmussen opened in the cutoff for 60,000 with {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and Sokalski moved all in from the button for about 150,000 with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Rasmussen calls.

No help for either hand on the board and the last remaining American (right) is out in 12th position.

Fougeron Doubles Up

Stiehler raises to three blinds from under the gun, Fougeron next to him comes over the top all in. The action folds to Rasmusson who clearly laid something big down because of the time it took him to muck. Stiehler calls Fougeron (whose legs were bouncing up and down under the table with excitement)

Fougeron has {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

Stiehler has {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

No idea what the board was because several thousand Frenchmen surrounded the table, needless to say the aces held because Fougeron was punching the air and screaming with delight.

Keep tuned for this Rocky story as it develops

Players feeling the pressure

Play has really slowed down now. Stiehler got a double up through Levi with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} but other than that not much has heppened as every player is desperate to avoid the final table bubble.

Jacob Rasmussen (right) from Denmark is the current chip leader closing in on 1 million in chips.

Blanco surges ahead, Muecklisch out

Cristiano Blanco has just won a huge showdown against Michael Muecklisch.

Muecklisch raises to $55k from the button, Cristiano calls.

Flop is {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

check check

Turn is {2-Hearts}, Muecklisch bets $80K, Cristiano calls

River is {7-Hearts}, Cristiano bets $125K, Muecklisch goes all in for a total of $370K, Blanco calls.

Blanco has {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, which beats Muecklisch's {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

This took Muecklisch down to barely having a blind, he has just been eliminated in the next hand.

Seperated at birth?

Bobcat Goldwhaite who played Mr. Zed in Police Academy and Thomas Fougeron who is currently at the final table of the Dortmund EPT.

Scary stuff.

All I need now is for Fougeron to go all in doing his Mr. Zed impression and it will make my day.

We have a TV Table

German on German action.

Stiehler had gotten very short and decided to try and pick up the blinds, by pushing with {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. He was called by Ruthenberg with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and didn't get any help on the flop.

Final table is scheduled to begin at 18:00 local time.
