Flops are for Wimps

Of the last eight hands, seven pots have been taken down pre-flop, three of those were won by Mattern, who despite playing more hands than any other player at the table seems to have a 100% record so far.

In the only hand where we saw a flop in the last half hour, Mattern raised to 48,000 from second position and was called by Gino Alacqua on the button.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Mattern bet 102,000 and Alacqua folded {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} face up.

Mattern now has 40% of the chips in play.

Force Italia!

Gino Alacqua
Gino Alacqua
Gino Alacqua has finally played his first hand of the final table. Nedzib Suman opened for a raise UTG and Kristian Kjondal called from the button. With a wave of his hands Gino announces, "All in," from the small blind. He stands up and then sits down again with his hands covering his head. Everyone folds and Gino takes the 135,000 in the middle to move up to 685,000. Cries of "Force Italia!" ring out from his countrymen in the crowd.

Nedzib Suman
Nedzib Suman
Neszib Suman opened for 60,000 from the cut-off seat and it folded to Juha Lauttamus in the big blind who asked for a count of the Swede's remaiining 260,000 stack before moving all-in.

Suman thought for a minute before calling.

{10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for Suman
{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for Lauttamus

Board: {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}

A full house for Suman who moves his stack up to almost 700,000.

Welcome to the Arnaud Show...

Arnaud Mattern has won four out of the last six pots.

First he got a walk in the big blind. He let Juha win the next one with a raise pre-flop before raising on the button to win the blinds himself.

Arnaud then raised again from the cut-off; this time Juha re-raised to 144,000 total. After asking for a count of Juha's chips, Arnaud moved all in and Juha was forced to muck.

Kristian Kjondal was allowed a blind steal before Arnaud took them again with a raise from UTG+1.

{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} for Norinder

Flop {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Massive Pot! Mistake Costs Norinder...

Arnaud Mattern
Arnaud Mattern
Kristian Kjondal raised UTG to 35,000 and Mikael Norinder calls in mid position. Arnaud Mattern has a short dwell in the small blind and then raises to 165,000. Kristian passes and Mikael puts out chips intending to call. When the dealer counts them he has put out more than 50% too much so Thomas Kremser rules he must make it up to a minimum raise which is 130,000 more.

As soon as this is done Arnaud moves all in for 677,000 more. After asking for the pot to be spread Mikael makes the call.

Arnaud {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Mikael {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The board is {9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Arnaud Mattern wins a huge pot to take the chip lead. He now has 1,984,000 which is nearly half the chips in play. Mikael is down to 210,000.
