Holland's Jorryt van Hoof and Sweden's Martin Jacobson both vaulted into the poker spotlight by reaching the final table of the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event. When the two resume play in November on poker's grandest stage, van Hoof will have the chip lead and slight position against Jacobson — van Hoof will be seated in Seat 3 and Jacobson will be seated in Seat 8.
Here in the European Poker Tour Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller, van Hoof and Jacobson will have a chance to get in some early practice against one another because they are seated at the same starting table. This time, though, Jacobson will have position on van Hoof, so the dynamic could play out a little differently. Even so, it will be iterating to see if and how these two get involved against one another.
There was a lot of commotion on Table 1, and a lot of people were watching as the biggest pot of the tournament was being played. Not just press and players from other tables, but late registrants awaiting their table like Ole Schemion and Tony Gregg were there as well looking on.
Apparently, Vanessa Selbst in the big blind had squeezed before the flop, and received calls in no less than four spots, according to one player on the rail. The flop got checked through, Govert Metaal told us.
We saw a 34,000 go into the pot from Selbst and Holz once the hit the turn, the other players got out of the way. The river brought the and Selbst checked. Holz, who was seated in early position, bet out a mere 50,800 after some hefty thinking.
Action was on Vanessa Selbst, who pushed all in. After the dealer was done counting, it turned out to be 211,300 total.
Holz again took his time, and rightfully so as it was for a huge pot. Minutes went by without anything happening, and eventually Holz made the call.
Selbst turned over her , and Holz mucked. As it was an all in for Selbst, Holz's cards were eventually turned on their back and everyone saw that the young German player had called with for top pair and top kicker.
Right after the hand, the staff reseated Holz, so he won't get his chips back from Selbst anytime soon. He does still have 65,000 to play with.

Altergott in the big blind checked to Holz after the hit the turn. Holz continued his aggression with a 15,200 bet, and Altergott called after not too much of thinking.
The completed the board and Altergott quickly checked. Holz thought about his decision for a couple of minutes, before eventually pushing 36,700 forward. Altergott went into the tank now, and finally made the call.
