ElkY Heads Out of the Door

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand Grospellier got his short stack of only 11,000 chips in preflop with a pair of fives and was put at risk by Jesper Feddersen with {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. An ace on the turn sent the Frenchman to the rail and he joined Rhys Jones as well as Piotr Franczak there.

Peters Saves His Chips

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the turn of a board reading {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades} Michael Tureniec bet 11,500 and got a call from Tobias Peters. Neither player had much behind.

The river card {6-Diamonds} saw big blind Tureniec move all in for 26,500 into a pot of 45,000. Peters had 24,000 behind and shuffled his chips without much enthusiasm for a while before pushing his cards away.

Portugal on the Rise

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Rui Ferreira won another big pot after flopping a set and turning a full house with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. Next to him, fellow Portuguese Tiago Martinho also has an above-average stack as well and we caught up on a few further chip counts. More to come after the break.

Loosli Doesn't Lose with Aces

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Sylvain Loosli raised to 2,500 and Artem Litvinov three-bet to 6,000 before the Frenchman moved all in for exactly 32,000. Litvinov eventually called off with the superior stack, but his {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts} was crushed by Loosli's {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}.

The board ran out {K-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds} and Litvinov was left a few big blinds.

Panka Busts in Cruel Fashion

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

In the first hand, Dominik Panka and Konstantin Puchkov got it in preflop with the Russian holding the superior {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}. Panka had {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} and was reduced to less than three big blinds after a board of {A-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}.

One hand later, Jean-Noel Thorel raised from early position and Panka called all in, Marton Czuczor reraised from the small blind to 7,500. Thorel called and then bet the {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} {9-Clubs} flop for 8,000 after it was checked to him.

Czuczor released his cards and Panka showed {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} for a flopped set of eights. Thorel sheepishly turned over his {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} and got there with a {K-Spades} turn and the {A-Spades} river to send the defending champion to the rail.

Nice Hand Vladimir

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Vojtech Ruzicka opened from late position for2,700 and faced a three-bet from the wily Vladimir Troyanovskiy to 7,500. Ruzicka checked Troyanovskiy’s stack of around 90,000 and put out the call.

The flop was {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Troyanovskiy led out for 9,500. Ruzicka made the call and they went to the turn card {7-Spades}. Troyanovskiy then check-called a bet of 13,200 from Ruzicka and the {2-Spades} completed the board.

Both players checked and Troyanovskiy turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Ruzicka could only smile, muck his cards and mutter, “Nice hand.”
